I never thought I'd be obsessively following an AFL game in late October like I will this afternoon. Don't get me wrong, I like knowing what's going on in the AFL, but never because it has such an immediate impact on the Cubs.

Funny thing is, about three years ago, I did obsessively follow the AFL, but for very different reasons. I find it ironic, now that the "waves and waves" are here, and I can't even tell you who's in the AFL, here we are returning to our roots as it were.

Same. I went out to the AFL for 2 years to cover some of the guys for a crappy little website I scouted for, and the only reason I really went was to see Bryant one year and Russell the next.

I know y'all are arguing with USSoccer, but I can't imagine anything making me more happy than Schwarber getting actual AB's for a World Champion Chicago team after being forced to not be in the party for 99% of the season.

All true, and he doesn't give Soler the attention I think he should. I still want Schwarber on the roster.

 

Contreras (or Soler) to DH in games 1 and 2 (with Ross and Montero catching Lester and Arrieta respectively). Schwarber as primary PH in games 1-5. Schwarber as DH in games 6 and 7*
