Why wouldn't it be

Why would it not be? Especially when used with other evaluation measurements and statistics.

Can I take these as a "no" apiece?

Balls with exit velocities below 10 mph rarely become HRs. Balls in play that do not have a high exit velocity tend to be run down more easily. Hitting the ball hard is good. It is known.

they just reported on Cubs Nightly that he is on the plane to Cleveland and will be the DH in Game 1.

So crazy! I want to not like this decision, but he can't do any worse than Heyward at the plate, right? LOL

I keep wanting to see the bad in this. See why it would fail because nothing ever good happens for the cobs

horsefeathers it. kill all the cleveland pitches Schwarbs

god i wish. terribly confused about ticket prices (where the tickets were coming from) and suffering form cubs playoff anxiety. but not drunk.

and, I dont want schwarbs to fail, I keep looking for how it will fail instead of just accepting that we will be getting a huge bat back in our lineup just in time for the WS. now that I say it like that, I like it alot.

Do you think Giancarlo Stanton is a good hitter?

Yes, and I'd list dozens of stats before I would even think of citing exit velocity.

As a stat by itself I don't think it tells you much but I think it's very useful information to have when looking deeper at a player in evaluating them on a number of things.

I'd never deny this, the stuff I took out seems like common sense as well, and overall I still can't understand why I should really care about exit velocity,

Exit velocity correlates pretty strongly to offensive success, particularly ISO. It's kind of important to hit the ball hard.

Morosey just lost his credibility when he just suggested that Schwarber would replace Soler on the roster

I thought that too. Why

The MLB Tonight guys, Cliff Floyd in particular, debated who comes off the roster and the only three guys they thought were worth mentioning were Soler, Almora, or Heyward, as if because Schwarber plays LF that an outfielder needs to come off the roster, but not the guy who never played, or the reliever they never used. Nevermind the fact that they didn't consider the other LF'er, Coghlan.

Here's what happens if they leave LaStella off the roster:

Zobrist gets injured -> Soler, Almora, Coghlan, or Contreras fill in at LF

Baez gets injured -> Zobrist to 2nd, Soler, Almora, Coghlan, or Contreras to LF

Zobrist AND Baez get injured -> Soler, Almora, or Contreras to LF, Coghlan to 2nd (with crossed fingers)

Bryant gets injured -> Baez to 3rd, Zobrist to 2nd, Soler, Almora, Coghlan, or Contreras to LF

Bryant, Zobrist, AND Baez get injured -> Soler or Almora to LF, Contreras to 3B, Coghlan to 2B (with crossed fingers)

In other words, LaStella only serves a good purpose to be on the roster if the Cubs experience catastrophic injuries at an unbelievable rate, and the only time you wish you had him is when you are forced to start Coghlan at 2B which requires extreme circumstances. And this doesn't even account for the even more extreme circumstance of the Cubs doing the unthinkable and putting Schwarber into LF (which they won't do). And even then, they still have Travis Wood for emergency left fielder.

In other words, Tommy (NSFW Language):

He certainly wasn't hauling ass on the double, but he was moving fine.

The fact that he slid with no hesitation makes me 100% confident health isn't a concern.

I can't wait to watch him hit. These past few days have to have been a dream. WE GET TO WATCH SCHWARBER HIT AGAIN. THIS YEAR.

The concern about his running on that double seems really silly to me. He said after his last game that he was just there for the ABs and running wasn't even a worry. The fact that he even bothered to go to second says enough to me.
