Is it just me or is this article pretty weird, considering Lindor is much better than Javy?

I think it speaks to the idea of just how inefficient the Cubs old ways were. They were always looking for the athlete/upside guy with little organizational thought to the true baseball value of the full roster. If one guy hit they'd pat themselves on their back and then take 10 more guys that failed.

There's actually no one I would want to drop on the roster for a hella rusty Kyle Scwharber even if he was 100% healthy, but if they activated him they would have the biggest and best cajones in the history of baseball and I would love it forever

Schwarber isn't on the 40-man roster. Couldn't play even if healthy.

Is this true? How did he end up off? Does the 60 day DL take you off?

Yep.

I've always had an ambivalently positive feeling toward the Indians. I have a feeling that will wear off at the exact same time that the numbness over making the WS wears off.

The Cubs could've gone 162-0 in the regular season this year and they would still be the underdog because of historical narratives. The Indians might be the statistical underdogs, but the Cubs are history's underdogs and that's what the whole world recognizes them as. The world doesn't recognize the Indians as anything except another team in the World Series, drought or no drought.

When people say "Oh the Indians are in the World Series? The end must truly me nigh", then you can call your team the underdog in the series.

With no World Series game thread up yet, I guess this is the best place for this...

So anyway, the Cleveland Indians have the better story in the World Series. I don’t care that your world series drought is longer by half a century, Chicago.

You don't get to claim the better story when you use Chief Wahoo as your logo.

hahaha "flubs postseason thread continued". they actually had to start a new thread about the cubs postseason because the first one was too long. that is actually pretty dark and kind of scary.

Reading the WSI thread just made me sad. I can't imagine getting so worked up over another sports team like that. Sure I dislike the Cardinals and Packers but when they win it's just a minor annoyance in my life.
