Ross probably said the D-word or dropped an H-bomb in front of Kris Bryant.

somebody on twitter said ross stayed up way past midnight one night

His plate discipline being what it will always be, I do appreciate that we are getting more of the full Javy experience offensively. I could see him rocking 30 homers. Now let's hope he gets back to the wizardry he displayed at 2B last year.

so, is Boras going to blame the Cubs for not overpaying for Arrieta before he could hit the open market?

he's lost a lot of money electing to wait. I know this will have zero impact on the Bryant decision (I can't believe that Bryant wouldn't accept a huge contract before hitting free agency, I mean, if he won't, he's a sociopathic murderer) but it's a bit of pleasant pain, here.

Bryant will have made in the neighborhood of 50 million as a professional before free agency in salary alone, never mind endorsements and such. There's zero reason for him to accept a pre-FA extension unless he doesn't care about money and never has any intention of leaving Chicago.

Contreras last 30 days: 299/364/507 with a palatable 23.4 K%

Rizzo heated up as well, controlling the zone with an 18:10 BBK (albeit 4 IBB) and slugging 6 dongs

Bryant probably having the worst BABIP luck of his life with a .179

One more random note:

Cubs position players from 2010-2014 produced 76.5 fWAR. Cubs position players from 2015-today have produced 71.2 fWAR and will likely double that early-decade amalgamation by the end of 2019

Josh Vitters is currently hitting .188 with a .197 obp as the the #9 hitter for an independent league team.

I remember his draft night, I'm pretty sure it was the first time MLB aired the first round and his post draft interview was not great.

I remember the build up to that draft and the debate over Vitters vs Wieters. Turns out the "We Want Wieters!" side was right.

The could've drafted: Wieters, Bumgarner, Heyward, Porcello, Frazier, or even Josh Donaldson.

That's the joke...

J. Parker was a top pitching prospect that reached the big leagues. He wasn't a complete bust. Got hurt and was never the same.

Wilken loved Vitters and other teams did too.

If Theo and Jed were in charge for the 07' Draft I guarantee they would've taken M. Wieters. A lot of people and posters here wanted the Cubs to take Wieters. Yet, even M. Wieters has kinda been a disappointment so we might still look back on the 07' draft with disdain.

Okay, yeah I know, you can't call Wieters a disappointment when Vitters is the #9 hitter on some shitty Independent league team lol.

I would have guessed that Vitters was more like 37 than 27. That seems like such a really long time ago.

i mean, it was 10 years ago (so it should seem that way)
