Yeah, that one is all over the place with tons of people stealing credit for it or thinking it's real.

Sad....RIP

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/cubs/2017/05/18/cubs-fan-dies-after-falling-over-railing-wrigley-field/101822766/

A man from Wheaton, Ill., died on Wednesday, the day after he fell over a railing onto his head at the Chicago Cubs’ iconic ballpark Wrigley Field, according to the Cook County (Ill.) medical examiner’s office.

Richard E. Garrity, 42, was on his way out of the park when he fell and suffered severe head trauma around 11 p.m. Tuesday — about 45 minutes after the Cubs’ game against the Cincinnati Reds. He was rushed by a private ambulance to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Garrity was pronounced dead around 3:33 p.m. on Wednesday.

I wonder what part of the the ballpark this happened, exactly

and did he get pushed or just stumble or something?

45 minutes after the game ended is a long time after a game ends.

If you're in a box, they don't push you out.

right, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a long time after a game ends. Meaning you aren't getting jostled around by a crowd or anything and probably increasing the odds you're shitfaced.

Just finished the Verducci book. Really good stuff in there. Some cool stories about the start of the rebuild, Maddon's background, etc. The bit about the team meeting during the rain delay was great.

You really gotta scour the average exit velocity leaderboard to find any Cubs

Of 272 players with 200 batted balls last year, no Cub ranked above #100 in average exit velocity, and they won 103 games.

“I have nothing to lose.”

that's a man who took Trump's message to heart

"Still trying to figure out what part of the constitution this violates... :-k"

Ironically, this sums up Donald's decision making process.

Strength of Schedule thus far: https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/baseballs-toughest-and-easiest-schedules-so-far/

Cubs are 4th in the NL(13th in MLB), behind Pittsburgh, San Fran, and San Diego. Other NL teams of note:

Washington - 11th in NL/27th in MLB

St. Louis - 8th/23rd

Milwaukee - 7th/22nd

Colorado - 6th/19th

Los Angeles - 14th/29th

Arizona - 15th/30th

Total tangent, but some of the team abbreviations in there are bizarre. I've never seen the Cardinals as SLN before.

You just never know when the St. Louis Browns are going to make their triumphant return to the American League.
