Whole lotta former Cubs prospects in the news today.

 

Catcher Rafael Lopez has signed with the Bridgeport Bluefish of the independent Atlantic League, MLBTR has learned. The 28-year-old had been in camp with the Tigers on a minor league contract. Lopez is a career .278/.366/.390 hitter in the minors and got a brief call-up to the Majors with the 2014 Cubs.

 

Also, the Rangers released the great Donnie Veal, who is still somehow hanging around, and the Braves called up former Marlon Byrd trade throw-in Hunter Cervenka to make his MLB debut.

So the Dbacks managed to trot out 3 completely different, completely terrible uniforms over our 4 game set.(I'd say 4, I've always hated their old uniforms, but I'm letting them slide since they're a godsend by comparison). I didnt even realize they were doing new uniforms until that series. Turns out, they've actually got equally terrible road unis to go with them.
