Hey guys, this Illinois/Notre Dame/Bears/Celtics fan has nothing to cheer for until baseball starts again or I get over Patrick Kane, so extending the season until November would be much preferrable!

Well, we got 2/3rds of the way through the boring month between the end of the regular season and the start of the offseason. I'll take it. Bears aren't even any good at a sport that is basically watching people debilitate themselves for our entertainment, trying to cheer for the Hawks is ruined by Patrick Kane, and basketball is dumb.

Win game 4 means Lester/Arrieta to push a game 7.

It's kind of weird how it matches up with the Red Sox in 2004.

Playing a division winning NY team as the WC team.

Both teams started their best two pitchers in Games 1 and 2 (Lester/Arrieta, Schilling/Pedro).

Both teams starting a weaker starter in Game 4 (Lowe an 89 ERA+, Hammel 105).

Both teams have best two pitchers set up for Games 5 and 6.

Long World Series drought.

And I just got myself a little excited for Game 4.

Well, I guess we're gonna have to take control

First half Hammel, we actually take a lead in a game

Not sure how confident I am with Hammel in this situation. But if we can win this one, Lester could easily get us back to New York, and Arrieta can easily get us to Game 7, at which point all bets are off. Stranger things have happened, right?

So is Joe gonna sit Schwarber against the lefty?

No stats for Matz v. Cubs

Posted

Any scouting reports on Matz? The CSN guy said he has sick stuff, but his numbers other than ERA (with admittedly a very small sample size) are rather mediocre.

I'd go with this lineup but I know it won't happen

Fowler, CF

Schwarber, C

Rizzo, 1B

Bryant, 3B

Soler, RF

Castro, 2B

Jackson, LF

Hammel, P

Baez, SS

You could make an argument for moving around Rizzo and Bryant or whatever, but it doesn't matter imo because if they don't hit regardless of where they are in the order we aren't winning much.
