At best, we'll have a cross wind going from left to right this afternoon. It will be tough for any but the most accomplished dongsmiths to get one out of the park.

Advantage Cubs.

So how do they get Coghlan in this lineup today? I mean, nobody wants to take Schwarbs or Soler out, right?

If Russell can't play, run the risk with Coghlan at 2b and Castro at SS?

Can we reach out to Lackeys ex-wife and convince her to sit behind home plate wearing a Cubs jersey?

Anything's better than [expletive] pink hat guy who looked as miserable as I've ever seen a person at a sporting event.

Cardboard cutout of Oscar Taveras' girlfriend.

I'm DVR'ing, but there's no way I'll be able to stay uninformed. So I think my plan is listen to the radio feed on the atbat app, and then if things are going good when I get to Wrigley on the red line at 5:30ish get out and go to a bar or continue to listen and pace around Wrigleyville like a mad man. So despite worse time slots, apparently all 3 Cubs-Cardinals games have beaten Mets-Dodgers in national ratings

Cubs got a 3.7 last night, Mets-Dodgers a 3.3

Imagine if we got a real time slot

Yeah, the Cubs probably aren't going to destroy Lackey. I don't think the short rest will matter much. I think a bigger factor will be seeing him in Wrigley and for the 2nd time in 5 days. If you're expecting 4 dongs, you're probably going to be disappointed. If you're expecting 4 runs off Lackey, that is a longshot too, IMO. Cubs still close this out tonight. But I'm thinking it's going to be a low scoring game.

Take that [expletive] loser talk for jerks back to the Bears thread where it belongs. The current post season single game record for dongs is going to be shattered less than 24 hours after it was set.

When we kept getting the worse time slot, I was wondering if it because they figured Cubs/Cards would draw well anyway, whereas the Mets/Dodgers in the middle of the day might not.

Will today's crowd be more relaxed or are we going to have to win the DS first?

The problem with the crowd is how many 65 year olds who just want to see it happen once before they die buy up the tickets. They aren't noise makers or the least bit enthusiastic. The Cubs will have to win a world series once before you can clear out all the nostalgic boomers with money who can't be bothered to get loud. After that, the sky high prices will subside a little and louder 40 year old will be able to afford to go.
