In other words, Carlson does not normally give a huge outside corner like Cuzzi, but against RH hitters he'll be more generous on the inside edge.

Got to take what we can get. Cuzzi is horrifyingly bad, and IIRC it was that ridiculous outside corner that contributed to the Cubs needing to expand the zone.

I'm not sure how it will play out, but we already know Cuzzi "teaming up" with Lackey would result in a very difficult game for us, so I'll take the unknown.

Going up 2-1 nearly always wins you the series when you're the team that's home in Game 4. Of those last 14 times it has happened, the team trying to clinch at home has won the series 13 times. Nine times they went ahead and won in Game 4; four times they went on the road and won Game 5.

There's a couple errors in that article, but I'm presuming this one is right. He forgot that the Cubs were in the playoffs in 07, and somehow minimizes the Phillies inclusion in the NL hierarchy.

That's how I'd take it. If Carlson rewards Lackey for pitching inside, fine -- but there's less margin for error there. And if he's off a bit due to short rest, should yield sufficient offensive production.

Cubs need to sweep the WS, winning on Halloween.

Otherwise, I will likely be spending the most important day of my sports life overseas.

has there been any news on Addison, sitting is not a surprise, even if he was good to go, with it being cooler and the non-elimination (for us) nature of the game.

No MRI, day to day.

I like the confidence Maddon has in Baez to put him at SS after making some mistakes last night and having Castro available to play SS there.

Dong em back home boys, dong em back home
