Surprised at no Cogs. Ok with it though.

Not too shocked. I mean you'd like to get the guy in there that's got good numbers against Lackey (although didnt do so well in Game 1), but who are you going to sit between Soler and Schwarber? I don't agree with hurting your defense by starting him at 2B (well actually the best idea was to get him 1 AB and PH for him). So oh well, just sucks for Cogs that Soler and Schwarber blew up once the playoffs started, but doesn't at all suck for us.

hopefully we all look like this a little later

Maddon gives no fucks at this point. Love it.

I like the confidence Maddon has in Baez to put him at SS after making some mistakes last night and having Castro available to play SS there.

Dong em back home boys, dong em back home

I think at this point, Castro is strictly a 2B in Joe's eyes. Of course he can play SS if needed, but thats if 22 and 9 aren't available. Castro has had his share of shaky plays at 2nd, too. Javy had some jitters that I'm sure he worked out. He'll be fine.

From STL's side, Wainwright threw 24 P last night, Siegrist threw 27, and Broxton threw 25. I'd guess we'll see Villanueva tonight and Rosenthal if Matheny really needs to stop some bleeding.

Is anyone unavailable from our pen today? Who's coming in after Hammel?

Would think that everyone who pitched yesterday could go an inning at least... Wood maybe 2 since he threw 1 pitch.

You have Rodney & Grimm who are fresh too.

Using Cubs twitter .gifs, here's how I hope my progression of reactions will be today

I don't think there's anyone that's completely unavailable. I doubt they'd try to get multiple innings from Cahill who threw 20 pitches last night and 8 in game 2, but that's probably fine since Hammel + Wood is likely the plan to get through 6.

Lynn and Lyons are around too.

I would love an epic slugfest

Me too, but only if you mean the Cubs hit a bunch of home runs and then force the Cardinals to eat a bunch of slugs.
