Good call pulling Lester.

should they just never use the bullpen?

Lester has not been pushed at all this year. Making him go 125 one game of the year isn't going to ruin him.

taking him out after 7 innings with a 2 run lead isn't going to automatically lead to losing

Going to the pen this inning doesn't bother me; the choice of relievers does.

yep

I've never seen a team get so [expletive] lucky on sequencing as the Cardinals this year. Like, major league hitters make outs most of the time except for the Cardinals when they really need runs.

Dude, seriously just....dude

either leave lester in or leave strop in. clayton freaking richard and fernando freaking rodney should be making zero meaningful pitches for this team.

exactly this. Rodney and Richard have no business being in high leverage situation, using them as such is just a dumb move by Joe.

It's like this is the moment Ski was dying to have happen. Look how excited he is.

I've been here the entire game through thick and thin, actually.

Rodney threw him a belt high fastball that was smoked, lol

maybe this will work out in the long run in that it will discourage maddon from using [expletive] pitchers in important spots.

I guess that would be the silver lining. I really don't want Rodney on the playoff roster.

Frustration is understandable given the number of times the Cardinals have come back against us this year.

We smoked two of the better pitchers in baseball the last two days and got 3 runs in 5 innings off a third. Everything isn't going to go right 100% of the time.

Everyone is frustrated. Nobody has this weird fixation on being miserable like you, though.

Except Rondon Fan. He definitely does as well.

Would really be cool if we could rally and win. Faint hopes of the division are the only thing making these September games relevant, at least mathematically (though obviously watching a good Cubs team is fun).

Let's get another one of those blow outs soon so we can see if Ramirez is fixed or not.

I guess unless things get really weird down the stretch, we'll probably be able to play around with the arms quite a bit the last week or so, see who can put together a good stretch.
