What odds would you put on either Cutler or Marshall being on the Bears next year?

At this point I'd say Marshall 10%, Cutler 30%

Oh, I think Cutler is far higher. I'll put Cutler at 75%, and even that I'm afraid is low.

Imagine if we traded Marshall for a 2nd and then went out and signed Julius Thomas and Hartline. Then you have Jeffrey-Hartline-Wilson-Bennet-Thomas-Forte. Won't happen, but it would be fun to watch.

Hartline is not good.

Weird phrasing. I don't think there's much chance Cutler is going anywhere, and I don't think he should.

Yeah, I'm assuming he is back and put it at like 90% maybe.

Maybe I'm projecting my own feelings a little too much but even 90% seems like the conservative estimate. I think they'll play "tough" with him to the extent they can but there's no way they are getting rid of him this year.

Marshall I'm not sure what to think, though 10% is low.

Going to guess Brandon Marshall for Michael Wilhoite and a pick. Hoping for a 4th, since they will get a comp pick for Whitner.

I could live with that.

the bears are going to be really bad next year again arent they

If they're gonna suck, hopefully they suck bad enough to draft a potential replacement for Cutler (since I don't see him lasting much past next year)

Thing with Cutler is if he's around by this time next week....he'll have 15.5Mil guaranteed for 2015, and 10Mil guaranteed for 2016. Obviously, he could be traded at any point or could be cut designated June 1 next year and the Bears could split that 10Mil cap hit up over 2 years. And it's not like 10Mil is enough to stop the Bears from drafting a QB early and having Cutler be an expensive backup or stopgap. The contract he was given last year was basically a 3-year deal.

Agree. Suck hard if you're going to suck.

I think the defense could be a lot better just off scheme (and potentially adding some freak talent at #7)...what the hell is coaching worth (which we believe is a lot in the NFL) if going from Mel Tucker to Vic Fangio doesn't make a substantial positive difference immediately?

That combined with an offense that still should have enough not to be terrible (Cutler, Jeffery, Marty, Forte, Wilson?, decent line) would have me expecting something closer to mediocre than awful.

They didn't hire a 79 year old turnaround specialist as head coach so they could suck for a year or two. They are going to try and win next year and the year after that. Unless they stumble upon a better option, Cutler will be the quarterback.

I'm going to miss Marshall the WR so much. Just an amazing fun violent style of play at that position, whether he has the ball or he's out blocking.

Obviously, won't miss how annoying he is off the field and what a horrible person he is.

Yep. They might think Cutler isn't good enough to win it.....but they should be smart enough to know "not Cutler" isn't good enough to even be respectable.

Bears have agreed to trade WR Brandon Marshall to the Jets pending a physical, per league source.
