Dolphins/Bears fan here. As already mentioned Hartline is NOTHING like Welker, except that they're both white. Hartline is an outside receiver, and has a difficult time creating separation most of the time. Hes a decent possession receiver, but ideally not one of your top 2 outside receivers. He lacks the quickness and route-running ability to play in the slot consistently. I'd definitely take him as a 3rd/4th receiver for depth when Alshon/BMarsh get hurt, but would hate to trade Marshall with the idea of making Hartline a starter opposite Jeffrey. Hartline is non-existent in the red-zone and thats where you'd miss Marshall the most.

I was thinking they would have 3-4 good years together, and I think this guy isn't going to age well so I am not disappointed with the concept. Needs to be something useful though.

One NFL source said the Bears are shopping Marshall with the idea of moving him. Another source said his belief is the team is taking calls in regard to Marshall.

 

What in the ever loving hell does that even mean? What else would "shopping" him imply other than the "idea of moving him"?

i think he means to imply that one guy thinks they are intent on moving him and the other thinks they are just feeling the market out and letting teams come to them

Sure, even that distinction is very poorly written. But the first sentence is bad and redundant all by itself.

Any reason why you feel this way? He's a possession WR who's never had blazing speed, and is still in great shape. Takes good care of his body. Assuming the injuries stay away, I don't really see a reason he couldn't crank out a couple more 1,000 yard campaigns...

History of wearing out his welcome despite production. A devastating mental illness that tends to ebb and flow in terms of how it affects people. And as a physical guy he does take a bit of abuse.

Imagine if we traded Marshall for a 2nd and then went out and signed Julius Thomas and Hartline. Then you have Jeffrey-Hartline-Wilson-Bennet-Thomas-Forte. Won't happen, but it would be fun to watch.
