I'd take Gregory, Dupree or Beasley over Ray.

Yeah, that's where I am. Not a big Gregory fan though.

I still have no idea why you're high on Dupree. I'll gladly be wrong.

They drafted his clone 20 years ago.

Biggest of the edge class, but every bit as athletic. Has 3-4 OLB experience, including dropping in coverage. I think hes more dynamic than Fowler, is more dimensional than Ray who wins solely on speed, and doesn't have the size limitations that Beasley and Gregory could (admittedly, Gregory could still add size according to most but I don't see it).

He's not good at shedding blockers at the pro level. You look at what he did vs Sec and he struggled minus one play vs South Carolina.

#Bears team web site announces Halas Hall locker room has been reconfigured. Players again grouped by their position.

I mean I'm glad they did this rather than the kumbaya crap Trestman was trying to do but I'm not sure that merits an announcement lol

On Tuesday, free-agent receiver Brian Hartline visited the Browns. On Wednesday, the Hartline heartland tour takes him to Chicago, for a visit with the Bears.

Per a league source, Hartline will visit Halas Hall later today. His visit to the Browns went well, and other teams remain interested. Hartline hopes to decide on his next team within the next 24 hours.

Is there a story with this?

It's Long's twitter avatar right? I hadn't seen it embiggened and didn't realize who was in the back.

There's probably some sort of story, although I have no idea what it is. He changes it quite a bit so I had not noticed this before.

I asked a buddy that knows a bit about aircraft, if Kyle was piloting a plane there. He thinks it looks more like a helicopter with the layout.

Yeah, it looks to me like he's in the left seat of a chopper, with the pilot sitting right seat. I've sat front left on helicopters and front right on small airplanes.

What does everyone think of Hartline?

The next Welker (according to dolphins fan at work)

It cracks me up that the guys skin color is more important when making comparisons than his height. Hartline is 6-2, Welker 5-9. Most of the replays I've seen of him, he's catching quick slants and deep post routes more-so than the short out routes, crossing patterns, and stab routes that we've become accustomed to seeing Welker run. I would say Hartline's game is closer to Jeffrey's than Welker's.

Saw a few tweets about Brian Hartline as a slot WR (I wonder why…). Only 13.7% of his routes were from the slot per @PFF. Outside guy.

So if they get Hartline, it's pretty much guaranteed that Marshall is gone, right? I'll trust Pace/Fox and the fact that everyone seems to think that Marshall's a knucklehead is probably enough proof, but it doesn't mean I won't question the fact that they don't think Marshall is far superior and that they can't make it work with him. That's disappointing.

Could also come down to an issue of money and them feeling like a downgrade at WR for the amount they'd get would be worth it to be able to further upgrade the team elsewhere.

Hartline is not that good. Had a couple good years, but is a 3-4 WR at this point. If signing him means Marshall's gone, the Bears are going to need Jeffery to go back to 2013 levels and Marquess Wilson to also step up really fast. They also have to definitely draft a WR in the top 110 picks.

Edit: though he's not over 30 like I thought. Still just 28.

Completely agree on all fronts. Now, if they can get, say, a 3 and a 5 for Marshall and use the 3 on a good receiver, I could be on board. Still, though, would like to give Marshall/Cutler one last run OR completely rebuild rather than half ass rebuild by bringing in a guy like Hartline.

It sure would be nice if Fox would just come right out and say that Cutler and Marshall aren't going anywhere.

And I'm not a fan of Hartline.
