If they lose Kane they may not make the playoffs. (7 points from being out...)

Penalty shot? Wtf?

It shouldn't have been. From the rules:

A penalty shot is designed to restore a scoring opportunity which was lost as a result of a foul being committed by the offending team

A scoring opportunity isn't having the puck in the offensive zone. If the Panthers player was setting up to shoot, then it would be a scoring opportunity. The refs shoved their heads up their ass, which isn't surprising this year.

7 points over 22 games is kind of a lot. No chance unless Sharp is caught sexing Keith's wife in the locker room between periods.

Kuc said it may be the collarbone. MF. And figures we play those assholes tomorrow night. Suit up Carcillo and let him do something stupid that will get him suspended the rest of the year. Win win.

6-10 weeks or more. Best case is the 3rd round of the playoffs if they make it that far. Hawks won't catch STL now and WPG won't catch them.

I did hear since Kane will be on LTIR they could possibly bring in a big name via trade before the deadline, and if Kane were to return for the playoffs he would not count against the cap as the cap is thrown out the window for the playoffs.

How does 6-10 weeks = best case is 3rd round?

If its 6 weeks he's back with 3 games left in the regular season, if its 10 weeks you are talking about mid second round.

Also yes, that LTIR thing is a great silver lining. Praise be to Kane for getting hurt before the deadline unlike his UC counterpart.

10 weeks is late 2nd round early 3rd round. Broken collarbone in a contact sport like hockey probably would take longer to return from.

As for Kane getting hurt, there is no positive in that, that was not what I was saying.

No hearing for Petrovic.

Also LeBrun says the Hawks are looking at Vermette.

He would be a good addition.

I would hope they call up Teuvo and play him on 2nd line RW.

10 weeks from today is May 6th. Last year on May 6th the Hawks played Game 3 in the 2nd round, and the regular season ended a day later than it will this year. It might take longer than 10 weeks, but you said best case was 3rd round when the timetable thats being reported suggests that 3rd round would be absolute worst case.

Also I didn't say it was a positive, just a silver lining which means finding hope in a bad situation.

Oops you are correct, for some reason I thought the playoffs were starting earlier this year with no Winter Olympics like last year. The season started later this year than last, I believe.

I think you are generally correct here, but I would not say that 10 weeks to return from broken collarbone is absolute worst case. I think there's risk it gets extended beyond 10.

Not sure if this is the same injury as Brian Campbell in 2010 but he was hurt in Mid March and returned by game 4 of the first round vs Nashville six weeks later. Just trying to find some optimism on what was a terrible sports day for the Hawks/Bulls.

I think St. Louis is going to crush them without kane . everything runs through him, especially on the power play. what a disaster

I don't think it would happen, but it would be pretty great if this injury allowed them to pick up someone amazing at the deadline with the freed-up cap space, and then have Kane come back on top of it for the uncapped playoffs.
