A second rounder seems steep for Timonen, but I trust the Hawks did their homework on the medical side of it. Q said he might play Monday.

kimmo timonen is a really good player, assuming that he's healthy and not too rusty. very skilled offensively and solid in his own zone, although not very strong.

also the 2016 pick becomes a 3rd rounder if the hawks make the western conference finals and a second rounder if the hawks make the stanley cup finals (both contingent on timonen playing at least 50% of the games).

yep, if we weren't getting a forward, stan would have set his sights much higher on the defenseman.

forward from the caps makes no sense with Sharp involved... they're not giving up ovechkin or backstrom. Brouwer and Ward are possibilities but neither of them is worth a Sharp.

I agree. The Caps are looking to add for a run this year so they likely don't want to trade a roster player that's helping them now. Unless there's another team involved but those types of deals seem to never happen in the NHL. I'd take Broeuwer back for Sharp but there's no way the Caps do that.

 

Trade Sharp to the Caps for prospects, trade prospects from Caps + Raanta to the yotes for Vermette?
