So, looking like a first-round matchup with Nashville. Unless they continue to fall apart. We could get MN in the 2-3 matchup.

And if we play decently well we can earn home ice in that series. We have 3 games in hand and only 4 points behind if the tiebreaker is H2H we have that as well.

Oh yeah it's far more likely that we pass NSH than MN does.

First tiebreaker is R.O.W. Which the Hawks should get that if the catch Nashville

Dammit. Great chance to tie Nashville for 2nd and be 2 points behind STL for first with a game in hand on both and we go down 2-0 after 1

I wonder if they are just trying to avoid a 1st round match up with the Wild so they're going to do just enough to finish 2nd or 3rd without risking winning the Central but not having the best record. The Ducks keep piling up points even though they've already more or less clinched 1st in the Pacific. It would be hilarious if they wound up with the Kings in the 1st round again.

As for the Hawks, They don't need home ice to get past the Preds. They can then take their chances with the Blues/ Wild survivor.

I believe a [expletive] will be given tonight. All they have to do is score first and that will suck the life out of a team not going anywhere.

They're following your script. That Sharp goal was purrty.

Didn't deserve that win at all. But huge 2 points.

I give some credit to the 'Canes for coming out after the 1st with their hair on fire. What causes concern is that their back end is terrible and the Hawks couldn't/ didn't take advantage the way they should.

Now 3pts behind STL and 2 behind Nashville with a game in hand on both. I personally would like them to finish 2nd and have home ice vs Nashville and let St Louis deal with what will probably be Minnesota. The Ducks will probably finish 1st in the West but everyone seems so bunched up. LA might not get in, but they could also jump up to 2nd in the Pacific.

LA has a pretty brutal schedule from what I've heard. I think at this point bot WCs are coming from the Central so LA will have to pass the Flames to get in. I think the Canucks will hold on to 2nd.

If the Wild were smart, they'd aim for the 2nd WC spot so they could breeze through the Pacific Division instead of having to slug their way through the Central.

LA have Rangers, Isles, Wild and Hawks. Canucks have Jets, Avs, Stars and Blues. It's hard to see the Kings gaining ground on them during that stretch at least

Gah tonight was a great chance to gain ground as St Louis was in Pittsburgh and Nashville had to play Montreal. Of course both teams got OT victories.
