?

Boston talking about a meltdown for Chicago neglects 17 seconds of history that are kind of relevant to the conversation.

I think St. Louis is going to crush them without kane . everything runs through him, especially on the power play. what a disaster

It will be tough, but the Blues become mental midgets every time the chips are on the line. Bowman needs to get off his ass and get a d man quick, cut down on the shots against. LA got stronger with their trade, and once again Stan is twiddling his thumbs, like last year and cost the Hawks a cup. I really hope they aren't gonna punt this season now that Kane is injured.

time to change this thread to "2014-2015 Chicago Blackhawks: Bust"

I don't think it is. If it were Toews who was out 12 weeks then yes.

I love Toews, and I'm not typically Debbie Downer, but Kane was the leading scorer in the league, on a team that's had scoring issues.

They won't punt, especially if they can use the newly opened cap space to add someone.

And yes everything has run through Kane and he's been on another level this year but at least they have 20 some games to figure it out. They still have a lot of scoring punch and if Teuvo can get some real playing time, Bickell can round into his usual playoff form, Shaw can stop acting like a skill player and crash the net, and some of Toews, Saad, Hossa and Sharp (if he is still here) step up, we can still be a formidable offensive team.

The question is the defense IMO. I hope TVR can come back and show the potential he showed earlier in the year, and maybe we can pick up a 2nd or 3rd liner for depth.

Anyways, this is definitely a blow that hurts our cup chances, but I don't think it eliminates them...I think we have too much talent and have the time to readjust ourselves to play w/o Kane. Since its not like we're in danger of missing the playoffs at this point, there is time to take some lumps and figure it out.

Toews plays center, one of the best two way players in the game on a team that lacks depth down the middle.

Very good points, I just hope Q is smart enough to put Teuvo on the second line and Versteeg down to the third line now that Kane is out.

@MattSpiegel Hawks source: Stan Bownman is aggressively seeking both a D man & a forward. & a $$ player to dealt with 2015 Cap (Bickell?) may be included.

@MattSpiegel The Blackhawks remain "all in," believing if they add good pieces they can get to the Conference Finals, to be rejoined by a healthy Kane.

@davediehl66: First Kane out 12 weeks and now a divided team after fist fight in the #Blackhawks locker room. There are locker room codes you do not cross

Don't know who this guy is but his Twitter account is verified.

Certainly seems like he's referencing the Sharp/Keith rumors with his last line.

That's the moron NFL color guy from Fox.

Same rumors that came out over the offseason, which supposedly had validity because Sharp was going through a divorce. 6 months later, Sharp is still married.

They didn't even practice yesterday (or this morning), so it would have had to have been....after their shootout victory on Tuesday? I'm sure there are players that don't like each other, but I don't think that's unique to the Hawks. Start winning games and this will all go away.

This is totally speculation, but I think there's still a ton of guilt felt in the locker room from the Clint Reif thing. Probably has raised the tension level quite a bit.

Time to unload Sharpie?

You'd hate to have it happen under these circumstances, but it's not a bad idea in general with his contract. Almost a certainty we're losing one of Sharp, Saad, Seabrook after this year....al long as its not Saad.

However, not sure what kind of trade we'd be making at the deadline that would include him. Someone like him would usually get traded for prospects, but I don't think we're giving up on this year yet. Just have to wonder if they'd have enough offense to get through the rest of the year and first two rounds without Kane and Sharp.

Looks like they are clearing space in Rockford for a bigger move?

In other news:

The Panthers acquired Jagr from the Devils today. I think Jagr started playing in the NHL before the Panthers existed.

The fact that you did it twice suggests there is a reason.
