Thanks CBS for switching over to the two-score game (NE-Mia) instead of the one-score game (Balt-Cincy). I didn't want to watch the closer game anyway.

Well, like many other NSBBers, my day is now ruined

I am there too, but I keep telling myself that this was like the Superbowl for Atlanta, at least the way they built up the game. Colston had maybe the worst game of his career and there was a godawful call of interference against the Saints that kept a drive alive for ATL. Champ Bailey must have looked really bad in camp to get beaten by P Robinson is all I keep wondering. Then again I have been drinking whiskey today.

Wow:

@billbarnwell: Lovie punting on fourth-and-1 in the fourth quarter down 17-0 is something.

Lovie's the worst. Honestly; he'd make a great assistant head coach/d coordinator, but he's an abysmal decision maker and a completely inept offensive mind.

And you're a maroon if you think Rivers still isn't the bitchiest. Every QB points out missed calls, only a handful of them do it to an obnoxious level, like Rivers and Rodgers.

I haven't been able to catch many of their games the past few years, so maybe I'm missing it. Or maybe I'm biased. But, to me, Cutler, Rodgers, Brady, etc. all complain at an even level.

If you haven't been able to catch many games the past few years how could you possibly have an opinion on that?

Because I watched most of his games the previous 12 years?

One of the craziest things about the whole "investigation" is that Goodell met with Rice and his wife....at the same time!

Yeah, you always want to hear from the victim of abuse while their abuser is sitting right next to them. Jesus.

It's almost unimaginable that Roger Goodell and the NFL league office had the Ray Rice elevator footage and still gave him only a 2 game suspension.

The NFL is horrible but what about the criminal justice system?

Agreed, you let him take an anger management program and he's gets nothing. He does this to a federal official and he could face up to 10 years.

Judicial system is such BS.

@SportsCenter UPDATE: NFL issues statement that they had requested to see video of Ray Rice striking fiancée in elevator but had not seen it until today.

NFL: Ray Rice video was not made available to them, despite requests to law enforcement. Nothing on whether NFL had account of what happened

Buuuut....in July....

There is one other thing I did not write or refer to, and that is the other videotape the NFL and some Ravens officials have seen, from the security camera inside the elevator at the time of the physical altercation between Rice and his fiancée.

We saw the TMZ video of what happened outside—when he was dragging her out unconscious—but inside, I'm told from those who have seen the video, it wasn't pretty. In fact, she attacks him—we don't know the reason why—and he strikes her, strikes her hard. And her head—according to the sources I've spoken to—struck the rail inside the elevator and she was unconscious.

This league is run by horrible people. They'll lie till they get caught to protect their scum-bag image.

Think the concussion debacle changed their attitude?

They're such pieces of [expletive]. I would love to see former players and their medical costs bankrupt this [expletive] (it'll never happen though).
