I know none of you guys feel sorry for us, not looking for pity, but it would be nice to get a cupcake for week one for once. Last four years:

 

Saints

49ers

49ers

Seahawks

 

An argument could be made that each of these teams were the NFC favorite each season (if you discount the Packers for one or two of those years).

 

Lose more and you'll play easier teams.

How many of those games are because it was the like-for-like matchup between divisions standings instead of the divisions that everybody in the NFC North plays?

How many of those games are because it was the like-for-like matchup between divisions standings instead of the divisions that everybody in the NFC North plays?

 

The Seahawks and last year's Niners games were because of like-for-like matchup while the first two were division matchups. However the Packers would have played both the Saints and Niners those years anyway because they finished in the same spot in their respective divisions the previous years.
