The "imagine if that were Jay" thing is reaching comical status.

On a side note, that Clay Matthews flop last night was Vlade Divac quality.

On the other hand, Seattle gets away with murder most of the time.

Pete Carroll is such a [expletive] nob

So is Rodgers. On that drive he's jaw boning with the refs on a holding call he never saw because he was running the other way.

He's nearly on Rivers' level and never ever gets called on it.

And how about Rodgers ripping his rookie center to shreds? Imagine if that were Jay.

the key difference here is that Jay Cutler is an anti-vaxxer, and is thusly a terrible, stupid human being who deserves every bit of scorn he receives

Has Jay said he believes the antivax stuff or does he just go along with his wife?

Why would that matter?

Are PFF grades out for this game? I want to see how Clinton Dix did and if it was as horrible as I thought he looked. Glad the Bears didn't pick him.

He had the really bad missed tackle, but I actually thought he looked pretty decent after that. He had a couple of pass deflections, nearly had an INT -- more often than not, he was in the right spot and he actually looked like an NFL safety.

Losing to Seattle is nothing to be ashamed of, but damn, the ILB's on this team suck. I don't really know how Thompson has neglected to improve that position until later rounds in the draft but that's pretty frustrating.

I felt like they were desperately trying to pump up Peppers in the commentary, but he just wasn't showing up other than a few plays. The PFF grades seem to support that.

I though Ha Ha was fairly good -- you have to consider it was his first time out.

It was Rodgers who really surprised me - poor decision making. There were two times when he clearly had first downs with his feet, but elected to throw instead costing drives. Lacey also looked poor, although that was likely because the Packers' line wasn't getting it done very often. Starks had a much better average though, admittedly on far fewer attempts but he looked much better to me.

Seattle won't lose at home very often, as usual. The Packers probably won't face that kind of defense for the rest of the year, so it's difficult to draw any conclusions.

I was relived the Packers passed on Mosley for Clinton-Dix.

Clinton-Dix had a few missed tackles. Did put himself in good position a few times to miss those tackles, so there's that. I always felt Haha was the third best safety in the draft behind Pryor and Ward, so I have to make sure I'm not rating him too hard after that.

Lacy apparently suffered a concussion during the game yesterday.

Losing in Seattle hardly means they're a bad team, but after reading fluff all week about how their offense was supposed to come out at warp speed and how months-long preparation/new scheming has made them equipped to handle a team like Seattle, it sure was nice to see them struggle.

The play where he rolled right and threw back left to the endzone...and it was nearly picked off. Collinsworth gushed about his arm strength...I know that NOLA doesn't like to hear it, but man...if that'd been Cutler...

I've long ago given up on expecting these guys to just call a game. They target certain players and deliver a preconceived message every week. Only an egregious series of mistakes will take them off it.

With Collinsworth I've always expected more because I think he does have the ability to, but over the years he just hasn't delivered. As it is, I find his commentary to be so ridiculous at times as to be nauseating.

announcers don't credit Cutler for his arm strength?

Sure, but the emphasis would've been on the poor decision. It would've been negatively spun for Cutler...it was positively spun for Rodgers. It would've been "nearly a pick" for Cutler. For Rodgers it wasn't mentioned.

Just shows how far ahead of the NFC Seattle (and maybe San Francisco) are currently.

Slow down on San Fran.

There was a WR that was completely uncovered on the right side of the field on that play too. Of course, Collinsworth didn't mention that either.

That was probably one of Rodgers worst games that I can remember off the top of my head, but I would mainly attribute that to Seattle's defense. He's not going to see another defense that's even close to that unless they face each other again in January.

I said maybe in parenthesis for a reason.

I'd slow down on the maybe in parenthesis.

I just think you guys are so hypersensitive about him, much the way I would be about a Saint probably. Any QB who isn't named Peyton, Rodgers, Brady or Brees would have been called out for a dumb decision on that play. In fact, I hear national announcers calling out Drew for some boneheaded things he's done in the past during broadcasts.

It's just gotten to the point where when any QB in the league uses questionable judgement, some guys go there immediately. Hell, Cutler is a pretty good QB but Romo and Eli with his 2 rings get at least as much grief as Jay. If anyone gets off too easy by the media, it's not Rodgers but Matty Ice in Atlanta.

I had him 2nd best S (I think) and close to #1, but I didn't like the value of him before the mid-to-late 20s. I would have much rather taken Bucannon in the 2nd (which I thought he would fall to at the time) than HCD in the 1st.

As a Bears fan, I must say this post is 100% true. Brees had a pretty shitty year a few years ago (led league in INTs) and made repeated bad decisions.

Oh god, if Cutler made that throw, or the other one that looked like a throwaway it was so bad...

...well, you know what would have happened. Good RexJay/Bad Rex/Jay

Or something similarly stupid.
