You could trade Russell right now for an OF of Cespedes' caliber, but they would have more than 1.5 years of team control and might be cheaper too. Russell, always Russell.

it would be more interesting if cespedes had, say, 3 years left on his deal after this season. you're talking about 1 year of cespedes on a team that's still unlikely to be contending, versus several years of a guy who, if he gets near his ceiling, is a better player than cespedes. i can't imagine why anybody would vote for cespedes.

A 20 year old tearing up AA at a premium position and widely regarded as a top 10 prsopect under team control for the next 7 years or a 28 year old who is good but not great as an MLB OF, making 10.5 million this year and next before becoming a FA?

I have absolutely no doubt this would be 50/50 at best (worst?), but probably in favor in Cespedes if it were on say ESPN Chicago, or cubs.com
