  1. True, didn’t realize how much of a steal his contract is at less than 30 mil a season.
  2. Maybe not the main offensive piece with Cleveland potentially needing to slash payroll doesn’t Jose Ramirez seem like a possibility?
  3. Nico hits .327 finishing 3rd in NL batting race. Wisdom struggles and Rios becomes full time 3B hitting 30 HR’s Steele hits 175 innings and wins 14 games with a sub 3.3 ERA
  4. Totally expecting the cardinals to get a few extra competitive balance draft picks due to this rain delay
  5. Trying to stick to bold: Zobrist can’t say healthy. Bote leads team in 2B starts and puts up a .800 ops with 18 homers Darvish wins 17 games with a sub 3 era Bryant hits 40 Schwarber, Rizzo and Javy hit 30 Almora becomes strictly bench after Happ has a huge April/May Contreras bounces back slightly but isn’t the offensive force people projected. Heyward hits .280/.350/.430 Lester struggles and has a plus 4 ERA Hamels starts hot but struggled in 2nd half. Morrow is out by June. Cubs waste good prospects on a mid season closer trade when they could have had a Free agent for nothing Mekkes also comes in to save bullpen
  6. I still think Cubs end up with Harper. However I think the market for free agents was predictable. If they get him it will be at a bit of a discount compared to expected contract value. There has been a lot of narrative about Epstein being blindsided by budgets and the Rickets interviews. I don’t think Theo and Tom have been out of sync since day 1 and would be shocked if they are now. I think the money is there with a few stipulations around it and the cubs know playing the market the way it is could save them millions, even if it’s Harper. My prediction: cubs sign Harper on Feb 19
  7. What is the perceived negative connotation about Univision to which you are referring? He made no reference to any connotation whatsoever. He’s saying, “I don’t care what network they are on if it provides the finances to sign Harper.” This, No underlying meaning. I was simply joking about caring more about cubs winning versus understanding the broadcast language or the propoganda spewed there the network. People need to stop digging into simple statements to provoke further meaning or explanation. I’d prefer to have my head burried in the sand and enjoy baseball taking me away from the daily routine. Sorry if offended, absolutely no meaning to it.
  8. Who cares about all of this. Give the cubs $$$ to sign Harper, I’ll watch them on Univision!
  9. He is not a guy that floats a lot of rumors either way... but yes he did say they had interest in Morrow last year. My guesss is if a meeting happened this weekend he got wind of it.
  10. Duffy to a cubs?? Circulating his twitter started by a local guy @jon_sport. Says Duffy to Cubs being finalized. We will see I guess.
  11. Addy finishes in top 5 MVP hitting .292 33 homers 122 RBIs Schwarber hits 41 homers Wilson leads team in saves Happ joins 20/20 club
  12. New York post? It's an AP report, isn't it? Whoops. I swear I saw an NY Post report yesterday.
  13. So the NY post has this info? I would bet this was leaked to get the Yankees to try and jump. Once they don’t he will sign with the Cubs.
  14. I'm fine with Machado in this scenario. Happ + Alzolay for Machado Javy or Russell for Yelich That's the only way I see Machado making sense. Yelich Bryant Rizzo Machado Contreras schwarber/zobrist Javy/Russell(whoever is kept) Heyward/Almora That lineup is insanity
