had no idea Craig finally lost his magical fairy dust. I remember Cardinals fans not willing to trade him straight up for Felix Hernandez.

I don't think you remember that.

Multiple sources have confirmed @Ken_Rosenthal's report that the #Braves are releasing Uggla. He'll pass through waivers and then be a FA

Yes, and you weren't hallucinating.

Yikes, TT got into an argument with a guy who wrote

He's also being paid like one. A $25m house with a $20m mortgage is worth $5m

Yankees GM Brian Cashman said that CC Sabathia will have season-ending surgery on July 23. Procedure is to clean out his right knee.

Clean out what? Thick onion gravy?

Buster Olney throwing out that the Rays want a top hitting prospect among others for Price. Mariners don't have one, So he suggests the Cubs get involved.

If the Cubs trade one of their top prospects to help someone else get a big prize. .....so help me God! And I don't even want Price. But I'm not trading prospect for prospect.

Assuming such a deal would involve the M's sending pitching prospects to the Cubs & the Rays getting a "premium" position prospect from the Cubs, I can't wrap my head around how Hoystein would be interested. The whole point has been to stockpile bats, presumably for obtaining established big league players, edit: &/or have a homegrown lineup. Why would the F.O. be interested in doing essentially a position prospect for pitching prospect(s)? And it's not liek the M's have top line pitching prospects w/out significant injury concerns. Olney needs to STFU

Price in on pace for 251 innings and 279 K's, he's been pretty damn good

But I don't want him. Too expensive, lots of miles, getting older, and injury concerns. If this purely speculative trade were to occur, I'd assume we'd be acquiring, at the very least, Taijuan Walker... and even then I still don't want him because it'd involve moving Russell one would think. I'd rather have him than Walker because Russell can be used to net someone with established value if he's to be dealt. Don't want pitching prospects for our top hitting prospects.

I'm not advocating trading for Price, but we most definitely will start adding long term pitching solutions and it doesn't appear it's going to be youngsters. If for no other reason than our payroll is going to allow for it.

And no, I don't see us giving up 3-4 top 100 types( including an elite guy) for Stanton.

Get on the train, davell.

Actually if Soler stays healthy the rest of the year, I don't see it either.

They gave up a lot for Street. He's having a great year for sure, but they just emptied their shitty system for him.

lol, didn't the angels already have the worst system like ever?
I read somewhere that just because they are 3 top guys in the Angels system does not mean that they were any good.

BA had Lindsey in their preseason top 100. He's likely lost some luster this year and they were higher on him than the others. Rondon is the best player they gave up, he's got a shot at being a top 100 type after the season. Alvarez throws 100 MPH and has been excellent in AA as a reliever. To me, it'd be like giving up McKinney, Vogelbach, and Rivero from a value standpoint out of our system. Which would infuriate me, if we were trading that group for Street.
