Iowa players move away from the basket on every single screen. Every single one. Never once did it get called. Colbert did it once, the Iowa player acted like he got shot and the whistle blows. The non-flagrant on Woodbury and the flagrant on Illinois was just ridiculous. Call it one way or the other, I don't care.

Groce was arguing the foul on Egwu where he was holding a guy back with an outstretched arm the entire time he went after a loose ball in clear space.

After spending the better part of the previous two decades finishing ahead of Iowa, it's something we can bear for a while.

 

And bickering about who has the better middle of the of the conference team isn't really becoming for anyone. Neither team is particularly good, and no one really cares who finished sixth or who finished eighth. But if a mini-run of finishing a game or two ahead of Illinois in the middle of the pack and going to the NIT or getting bounced in the first round fills you with bravado, have at it.

Which shouldn't have mattered because there was a very clear charging foul on the Iowa guy who made the pass before the ball ever got to Olaseni. Which is what Groce lost his [expletive] about. Egwu was clearly outside the arc and in position and they just blew the call.
