Maryland called that timeout. That said, the timeout did not help them much either. They executed very poorly defensively (or were naive tactically -- sound like the soccer fan I am, there) in allowing a rather open, top-of-the-key 3-pointer from a hot shooter.

if size were the same, Rice would be better, but Hill is 6-7 and the advantages Rice has on Hill are so miniscule that the size difference trumps all.

 

I like them both, but the team has a tendency to defer to him when he's on the court, and that hurts them. He doesn't make anyone better.
