Well that was fun. Huge game at home vs. Maryland on Sunday. Much easier final 8 games.

that's an understatement. I did a double take when I saw that schedule. wow.

Yep. First 10 is Wisconsin and Ohio State twice, at Purdue, at Minnesota, at Michigan, vs. Maryland, MSU and Nebraska. Toughest schedule in the league by a decent margin. If they can get to 6-4 that would surpass almost everyone's expectations. Even 5-5 is solid.

Last 8 are home vs. Minnesota, Rutgers, Illinois, Northwestern. At Northwestern, PSU, Nebraska, Indiana. Pomeroy has them favored in 7/8 but going 6-3 to finish 11-7. I'd take that.

Any of the Indiana guys on here seen Coleman-Landis play? Is he gonna play right away and be able to score for us? If not Groce is gone after next year, IMO.

Sorry I'm late to this.

I have not seen Coleman since he left Indianapolis Cathedral for La Lumiere. So I'm projecting a bit more than I'd like, but I would suspect he'll be able to play right away. He's a good athlete, long-armed, and has very good all-around skills. He took a lot of mid-range shots when I've seen him (not really meant as a complaint, he's a very good shooter--he just didn't really get to the rim often). I wouldn't expect him to be a star immediately but I'd be pretty surprised if he's not ready for significant minutes. Not necessarily as a direct player-to-player comparison, but, using IU freshman, I'd expect him to be more akin to what Robert Johnson has given IU this year, as opposed to James Blackmon, Jr. (and I do not mean that as an insult, Johnson has been quite good).

Thanks for the response. Blackmon is the name I've often seen him compared to, so it's interesting you don't see him as the same type player. All in all he's closer to what I expected, solid but not a star immediately.

I guess the good thing is that Groce keeps stacking those type of players and eventually when he has some of his own upperclassmen we should be improved, that is if he can ever add a legit point guard.

I've actually been pleasantly surprised by Tate's progress this year. He's been getting more aggressive going to the hole lately too.

He's fine as your backup, if he is your starter I can't see you finishing in the top part of the league.

would be a huge win for the illini. but i fully expect izzo to start screaming at the refs pretty soon and getting his way.

I always appreciate the annual reminder that following ND basketball is a waste of time because they're not that good and never will be. Given that they've sucked ever since beating Duke, I can't say there weren't warning signs.

Tv Ted and crew doing a typical pretty awful job in the UI-MSU game.

I actually like Dakich as long as he isn't doing Michigan games. Mixed in with obnoxious stuff is actual basketball insight. Most basketball color guys are just obnoxious.

Welp, there's the home cooking to give them the advantage.

That's the biggest [expletive] [expletive] call I've everr seen

I have no idea how they can possibly make that call. So [expletive] awful.

That. was. horse. [expletive].

It's a damn box out.

Well, we missed the call in real time, so instead of doing what we should have, we're just going to hand MSU the game. [expletive].

It's not a call in realtime it's a mother [expletive] box out

It was a light push, but it was a push.
