First time I've seen Floyd pushed

Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

He claimed post-fight that he could've out boxed him, but he wanted to give the fans their money's worth. Don't know if that was a real strategy, or some rationalization for the fight being tougher than he anticipated

I had a really bad Buster Douglas premonition yesterday about this fight. I knew it was going to be a tough fight, but I also read that Mayweather got more money than any other fight for this one. I feared the fix.

Brian Holloway blames Michael Jackson for the patriots losing to the bears in the 86 Super Bowl.

The Sullivan family, the owners of the Patriots of the time, cut a bad deal and lost a fortune on the Jackson's Victory Tour, which precipitated the sale of the team. Holloway believes the Sullivan family had been forced to put the team up as collateral to Jackson, who took over as owner right before the Super Bowl. During Super Bowl week, Holloway claims that the coaches came to the players and told them that they were going to play right into the Bears' strength and throw the ball the entire game. If you check the game's play-by-play, the Patriots did pass the ball on six of their first seven plays, resulting in zero completions, two sacks, and a lost fumble. Holloway claims that nobody in the locker room understood the move and suspicions kicked up immediately after the game. Later, Holloway says that he was approached by storied Boston sportswriter Will McDonough, who reported that Michael Jackson had wagered a lot of money on the game and had requested the passing attack as a way to ensure that his Patriots wouldn't cover the spread.v

That is from a foot note in the grantland article about what happened to Brian holloway's house.

Right... because Craig James was going to run right over the Bears defense.

Someone who likes Any Rand also happens to be crazy? Doesn't add up.

Tiger Woods has ruled himself out of next month's U.S. Open at Pinehurst in North Carolina while he continues to recover from back surgery.

The former world No. 1 has been sidelined from competitive golf since late March after requiring treatment for a pinched nerve in his back that had troubled him for months.

Can anyone explain to me why it's a disadvantage to California Chrome to have run in the the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes while other horses didn't? They're 2 or 3 weeks apart and it's less than a mile and a half. I don't really get why the other horses have the advantage. Is there something about the recovery time in horses I don't know about?

It does take a little out of the horse to run 3 races like that in a 6 week span, but more to the point, it's the type of horses jumping into these races. In the old days, there a few mega stables that put horses into the TC races. The smaller stables deferred to them, for lack of a better word, and didn't clutter the field with mediocre horses. Now that's changed, and you see all kinds of horses in the Bellmont, like the one who stepped on CC's hoof and damaged it in the backstretch. Not saying that's why he lost, but it is a change that may contribute to the long Triple Crown drought. More mediocre horses cluttering the field means more variables to fail to win the TC.

All this is a moot point, because there's no way that the Bellmont is going to listen to Churchill or the Preakness or anyone else on who they put on their race card.

Has there ever been another golfer who has had as many injuries as Tiger Woods?

Certainly. They just weren't as noteworthy.
