Have to root for the Rangers now!

Not really. They have annoying players and an annoying fanbase. I'll root for Garza though.

They do? :-k

Come on, he's a Cubs fan in New York...of course he has to deal with them ALL THE TIME.

Close friend of mine is a Rangers fan. I've heard the fanbase has generally become self-entitled by their success in recent years.

I'm a Cubs fan and I promise you that 99% of the Cubs' fanbase is terrible.

Sure would be swell if the Rangers win the WS, Cubs got a nice prospect back, and then the Cubs sign Garza in the offseason.

So the PTBNL is related to how well TEX does this season and not on whether they can sign Garza?

Don't think there have been any confirmed reports on what the PTBNL hinges on.

PSD guy said that at first, but backed off, saying he's got multiple sources telling him different things.

Olt can throw the leather for sure. This is the same kid that the Rangers refused to trade for last year. He can hit and I feel will continue to get better at the plate.

And 99% of the Cubs fanbase is not terrible. That's an awfully big brush you're painting with there.

This guy somehow both gets things and is WHOOSH-ed by them at the same time.

So does CJ Edwards become our top pitching prospect?

He's certainly our top pitching prospect that is 5'10" or under.

Probably a slight edge over Pierce. They're pretty similar, IMHO.

This is a nice haul that could get even better. The big thing is that we traded Garza for value and now we have mulitple prospects and can go sign someone for the money we would have paid to keep Garza. So in the end, we could sign a Garza type player(or garza himself) and we got prospects.

Not even counting the PTBNL, this is a damn good return. Edwards is likely to show up on a top 100 list or 2, Olt still has upside, and Grimm could slot into the back of the rotation longterm. Personally, maybe SNTS, but I'll have Edwards 6th on my Cubs prospect list, with the hope that Olt gets enough ML AB's to not have to try and rank.

So when did Olt get the Lasik surgery? And he has been tearing it up ever since? That's a really good sign then.

Olt since returning to AAA:

He was doing alright, relative to how he was doing before the surgery, but he still wasn't doing that great. A couple weeks ago he worked on a hitting adjustment with Manny Ramirez and since then has been doing really well.

Alot of sites have him listed as 6'2" baseball reference has him as 6'2"

Oh, screw it.

I'm really excited to get Mike Olt even if it is stupid to feel that way.
