Ill remain excited about this move until I hear a name like "Shea Mcclellin" in the coaching world and immediate return to the verbal vomit and bile.

I've already had a relative saying he wants Singletary. I momentarily blacked out after I heard that.

It's still good to see an immediate, decisive move.

yes. I'm pleasantly surprised, similar to after the Marshall trade. But then the rest of the offseason happened and the draft, which negated much of that optimism. Hope this works out better.

I'll give Emery benefit of the doubt on the O-Line for one year. Obviously, its got to be addressed in a big way now. I guess I could see that being yhe point of emphasis, with the D getting a few stopgaps.

I'm going to remain optimistic for now. Last year Emery addressed WR, which needed it badly. This year, hopefully he will turn his attention to OL.

#Bears player told me a few weeks ago "Lovie is a great coach, but isn't an offensive guy." 4 OCs in 9 years. Wasn't gonna get another.

I don't know why you'd give him the benefit of the doubt. It was a blatantly obvious need that didn't just get pushed to the backburner, it was completely ignored. Angelo ended up spending 3 first round picks on OL in his tenure but even with that his overall stance was to ignore it.

I remember Urlacher, Briggs, and Tillman were all disappointed when Jauron got canned. What are they supposed to say? I'm sure they are somewhat genuinely disappointed considering Lovie's reputation for defense, but they'll get over it. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Urlacher walks away now.

Lovie will go down as a decent coach in Bears history, but one that just fell short of getting this team where it needed to be.

I wonder if they really turn around the oline now

If they get an offensive coach, they'll surely have to put a serious focus on it.

Whoa, great insight there Larry. You had to dig deep for that one?

To keep Jay and Brandon happy on some level, do we want Bates back? Or just flat-out change everywhere?

I want the right coach and let him determine who the right assistants will be. If Bates is one, great. Otherwise I don't care about keeping people happy right now.

lol, it's obvious, but it's a player saying something somewhat negative about Lovie, which we don't hear.

Yeah, Jay and B-Marsh should keep each other plenty happy.

I can't remember for sure, but FA was completely void of O-Line help last year, wasn't it? I wasn't a fan of the McClellin pick, but did think he could be a nice, step-in, immediate contributor, for a team we expected to be in contention. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the O-Line in last years draft either. Although Martin has proved me wrong down in Miami. Two nice additions to the line is needed, think it'll be priority 1, can't listen to Tice again.

Could you imagine this offense without Marshall? Frightening!

Since the Bears didn't make the NFC Championship game, Lovie had to go in my opinion. But has there ever been a 10-6 coach that got fired before?

Schottenheimer was 14-2

The Australia time zone difference has to be killing Truffle right now

I'd have to say yes, it's happened at 10-6. Lots of teams go through playoffs or bust years, and some coaches get fired even after making the playoffs, like Dungy.

Oh geez, John Clayton just speculated that the Bears would go after Brian Kelly

Clayton said a lot of weird things.

Yeah I'm a few minutes behind. Right now he's talking about how the Bears should agressively go after Andy Reid and pay him what he wants.
