If it wasn't already out there, you can rest assured that Cutler haters will lean heavily on the "coach killer label". Bradshaw is probably livid at Jay right now.

The way Troy Aikman did it this morning was to say that he doesn't know that coaches will want to work with Jay Cutler, because he's not well regarded or something.

He's been with the Falcons since 2008. Looks like he's had 2 years out of that where FO has the Falcons ST in the top 10. The last was in 2010.

I don't know anything about Keith Armstrong, but my first guess is Rooney Rule.

The Bears are highly likely to give Singletary at least a courtesy interview.

I extremely seriously doubt that.

@AdamSchefter

Arizona and Chicago have ask for and received permission to interview Broncos OC Mike McCoy for their HC job. Will interview this weekend.

Interesting from #Bears; They've told their assistants under contract they must stick around until new coach hired. No interviews yet.

That's kind of crappy isn't it? You'd think the new coach would want to bring in his own guys.

I think it's them playing the contract game a bit so if a coordinator tries to leave, they can "quit" rather than get "fired". So they can get out of as much salary as possible.

Why do this? Unfair to hold onto one or two, in hopes they'd be retained by new coach, while letting others walk?

But can't they try to leave now? And if they are released to do so now aren't those chances improved?

Yep. They can, but they'd have to quit and the Bears wouldn't have to pay them the rest of the contract.

If the Bears release them all, then the Bears are on the hook to pay out the rest of contracts. It's purely about trying to save some money for the Bears.

What's the deal with the anti Andy Reid feelings?

He's white Lovie. Offensive coach, gone thru many d coordinators. Hasn't won anything despite being mildly successful in the regular season. 1 SB appearance.

Similar clock/challenge related issues as well.

Although he's been significantly more successful than Lovie, due in no small part to having a well rounded team that was competent on both offense and defense. He's also got a 10-9 playoff record, compared to Lovie's 3-3.

And that's life in the big city. These guys should all get how it works, and if not then they are rather unrealistic.

I called the McCoy interview a few weeks back (yes, patting myself on the back). Really hope they get him.

Quick look at twitter shows the defensive players lamenting Lovie's departure. Haven't noticed anything similar from offensive players, unless I missed something.

Did you miss the Hester drama?

No - but does he really count? Jay was lukewarm at best, but that's just Jay probably. I'd be interested to hear from guys like Marshall, Forte, Bennett, and Garza.

I heard a Garza quote, but I honestly don't remember exactly what was said. Not sure that Marshall would be all that interesting. Not a huge Lovie attachment.
