Bates may not stay either, apparently.

I'd rather a competent coach select his assistants.

Yeah, and ultimately I have no idea what Bates does other than chum it up with Jay and Brandon.

Bates throws peanuts at people in the offensive meeting room and creates many yuckyuck knee slapping moments.

Urlacher is being MUCH more sane than Hester.

Says we're all mad and are gonna say things we don't mean. Doesn't wanna play for anybody but Lovie, but still wants to be a Bear too. Sounds like his emotions are all over the place.

Urlacher hated playing cover-2 LB in his career, maybe he feels his career can get a second wind by going into a system that asks him to do other things.

like a 3-4?

Huh, both of you saying Urlacher didn't like playing Cover 2 LB....what leads you to think that? Not saying you're wrong, I just don't remember reading any quotes from him about that.

What leads me to think that are the many quotes I've read from Urlacher indicating he begrudginly went along with the system because that was the system his head coach demanded. But it's been stated many times he doesn't like it.

He definitely didn't sound too intimidated when asked about the possibility have working in a different defensive scheme.

@Seankjensen

I'm hearing it's fully expected Broncos will grant #Bears permission to interview Mike McCoy. John Fox won't stand in his O-C's way...

@seankjensen

John Fox, who was a former defensive coordinator, certainly understands from experience the challenge of landing a head gig.

Lol football expert Hunter Hillenmeyer says Bears will be 5 win team and the defense will definitely be worse.

ROFL...predicting records without knowing the roster, the new coaching staff....good story, bro.

@ChrisHarrisNFL: That Chicago defense you've learned to love so much is about to take a serious hit. During Lovie's tenure they've led league in takeaways

I know it was his thing to practice it, but geez you don't think guys like Tillman won't continue to do that?

I think it's a pretty safe bet that the Bears will have fewer takeaways in the future.

@spiceadams: I understand its about Ws & Ls but you have guys coming into the league at age 21 & they need to be taught how to be men & Lovie did that

Lovie is the only man capable of that!

I'm not going to begrudge these guys their feelings about Lovie.

This is what he did best, got guys to believe in him and give their all.

I don't begrudge them anything, but I do laugh at the silly stuff.

I spoke to the agent for ex-#Bears coach Lovie Smith. @Matt_Smith_IMG tells me Lovie is "ready to coach in 2013."

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Smith gets a HC position. There are a numch of openings and despite the issues, he did go 10-6 this year and has been regarded as a highly successful coach.

If he wants to coach next year, I'd be surprised if he didn't get hired.

Whatever job Lovie takes he will have to fix an offense. Who's going to hire him to help with that?

A GM who feels confident he can help Lovie pick the right OC.

San Diego already has their QB and presumably know how to field an offense. But they've already dealt with having regular season success and playoff disappointment.

The Eagles have been run by an offensive mind for years and may want to go a different direction. I'm going to guess Buffalo won't go with another Bears retread after Jauron.

San Diego runs a 3-4 and I can see what you're saying. Lovie would be a great DC for a 4-3 team
