sean king was on with laurence holmes last night and pretty much said he wouldn't hire him if he were in charge of the bears.

Sullivan and Carmichael got 0 votes of confidence by reporters in their respective cities.

We better not freaking botch this hire with Sullivan.

Clements hasn't exactly gotten any glowing reviews from reporters, either. I couldn't really care less about that.

No kidding; I haven't heard a favorable report press-wise about Clements, while I've heard multiple local journalists bemoan the firing of Lovie.

The Bills -- who already have interviewed Ken Whisenhunt, Ray Horton, Doug Marrone, Lovie Smith and Chip Kelly -- are meeting with McCoy on Saturday morning, and the Cardinals will interview McCoy on Saturday afternoon.

Sunday morning, the Bears will get a slightly extended window with McCoy, sources said. The Bears were the first team to request an interview with him and have serious interest.

The process will conclude with the Eagles on Sunday afternoon before McCoy turns his attention to Denver's divisional playoff game next weekend.

@RapSheet: As I just said on @nflnetwork's #GameDayMorning: #Bears will interview Montreal Alouettes coach Marc Trestman. #wildcard #Canada

No stone unturned, for sure...

This will be considerably helpful when the NFL changes to a 3 down system and lengthens and widens the field.

Yeah okay. It worked.

Bears apparently are going to talk to Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone. I like him. I think he gets more credit for Brees than Carmichael does. Developing a solid qb in Nassib at Cuse too.

I like him because he coaches the actual sport that the Bears play.

the answer to a stagnant offense that can't score points isn't more running.

if dennison can bring his o-line with him, maybe. but most likely still no. the bears have been stuck on this run-first mindset for their entire history, it's time for a change with the times.

i don't want an HC in here that runs to set up the pass, that was what we were trying to do all year. cutler needs to throw the ball 35-40 times a game.

To be fair, Dennison was the OC in Denver when Cutler went to his only ProBowl and threw for over 4500 yards, finishing 3rd in the league in pass attempts. Denver threw the ball 620 times that year and ran only 387.

*Of course they were blown out 6 times that year and got into 3 other shootouts where both teams put up over 30 points.

if we keep the defense intact i'm not worried about shootouts.

my big problem with our offense was the tendency to get a lead and then play ultra-conservative, putting a huge strain on our defense. just because you have a lead doesn't necessarily mean that the clock is your friend yet.

If Dennison brings the Shanahan/Kubiak zone blocking scheme with him, running the ball isn't necessarily a bad thing or being ultra-conservative. This is the same scheme that has made guys like Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson, Arian Foster, and Alfred Morris really good backs.

I have no idea what Dennison will do, but the Shanahan/Kubiak run game isn't run three times into the line and punt.

I think Forte is a zone scheme RB too. He's best when he can make 1 read, 1 cut and get up the field. Instead of the current scheme that requires him to hit the line and run thru a designed hole inside.

i really like the style of play the zone blocking scheme lends itself to, and i think the personnel in the skill positions for the bears would flourish in something like it...would definitely need to add a real TE to the roster though...[expletive], they need to do that regardless.
