I don't know how Rahm thinks they are going to host the Super Bowl in the smallest stadium in the NFL (err 2nd smallest capacity now because the Raiders decided to tarp off 10k seats). Add playing in one of the coldest winter cities in the NFL during the coldest time of the year (average forecast in NYC on 2/10 is 39/25, for Chicago its 33/20). I just don't see it ever happening unless they figure out a way to add 5-10k seats and hope that the NYC Super Bowl goes off flawlessly with a decent gameday forecast.

Stadium size, yes, but I don't see what difference 5 or 6 degrees is really going to make.

It's really the tail of that distribution that is problematic.

Cold weather cities, with outdoor stadiums, just aren't a good idea for a superbowl. IMO. It sucks as Chicago would be a great city to hold one in if you take out the weather.

Only true for the media that wants a week of free parties and drinks with umbrellas in them.

Carimi traded to Tampa Bay for a 6th rounder.

Great last 1st rounder by Angelo

The funny thing is it was a widely lauded, relatively safe pick, unlike some of Angelo's other first rounders.

I really was hoping for more than a 6th. Could always have kept him as a swing guard/tackle.

This sounds like a deal him for the sake of dealing him deal, which I don't like. It's easy for a new GM/HC with no actual ties to the player to throw him away for something like a 6th. If he stabilizes his career there they can still just throw out some gibberish about how "it just wouldn't have worked out here." Carimi has been a disappointment, but this is not a line that is overstuffed with sure things, they could have used the depth at the very least.

As last season spiraled down from its 7-1 start into a series of disappointing losses, communications in and around the offense reached a point where backup quarterback Josh McCown was pressed into the role of liaison between quarterback Jay Cutler and then-coordinator Mike Tice, a source told CSNChicago.com.

I guess the question begs, is there a coordinator out there Cutler will get along with?

not sure what question is begging what

I would bet Jay would get along with a competent coordinator.

Whether the coordinator is competent or not, (and Tice certainly wasn't) you still don't like to hear that Jay seems to get in a pissing match with every single one.

I don't give a crap if Jay didn't get along with Tice. He was a dolt. And Martz had a reputation of not getting along with his own squad coming in, and he hasn't found work coaching since his time here.

I think this says more about the organizations problems with overall offensive philosophy than something that is wrong with Jay Cutler. He doesn't lead the league in smiles, but I don't give a crap.

I'm with Jersey here. If Jay gets frustrated with someone as terrible as Tice, I'm not gonna hold it against the guy.

getting rid of martz was [expletive] stupid. jay did just fine in his offense. the only reason they missed the playoffs was because johnny [expletive] knox fell down.

martz and jay may not have gotten along, but it still worked.

Oh, yeah, there's been a whole two he's had issues with, one of which was definitively terrible at his job. This is a really huge concern.

Three.

And obviously he clashed with McDaniels but you can't come close to blaming him for that one.
