Hoping for at least a 5th with an outside shot at late 4th.

That's so incredibly frustrating but completely justifiable.

And it wasn't even an Angelo reach. He was BPA on my board and filled a huge need. First pick I was 100% dead set on since Tommie Harris and Urlacher.

Jim Miller is expected to return for a second season as a television analyst for Chicago Bears preseason games and now it looks like he will have an expanded role with the franchise.

The Detroit News reports Miller, the former quarterback, is leaving his position as the radio analyst for Michigan State football games to take a “communications position” with the Bears. A Bears spokesman said last month that the three preseason games broadcast by the team was expected to include Sam Rosen and Miller in the booth, the same pair that called games last August.

Given the fact that Jim Miller has been among the group of meatbally Cutler criticizers, I find this hire a bit interesting.

I had a nightmare last night with Jim Miller and Sam Rosen calling the play by play for it. I may not sleep tonight.

Dan Pompei cautions against hyping guys in shorts, then gets into the business of hyping a guy in shorts.

You have to be cautious about what you see from a football team when buds still are on the trees and pads still are in the lockers.

But if there is one of the Bears you should know about who's mostly unknown, it's Fendi Onobun.

There is no question the tight end has been an offseason standout. And if he performs as well in training camp as he has in the offseason, he will have a significant role on the team. And he will be an offensive weapon.

He was a 6th rounder in 2010, picked by the Rams. The Bears are his 6th team, counting practice squads. He's played in 4 NFL games, with 3 of those coming in his rookie year (2 receptions for 15yds), 1 game in his 2nd year, and none last year. I sincerely hope that he doesn't have a significant role on this team.

Yeah, a bit of spin there to make it sound like it was completely his idea, but still...definite HoFer, and will be one of the long remembered, great Bears.

Urlacher told "The Dan Patrick Show" that there is no chance he will change his mind and play again.

"There's no scenario or amount of money that could bring me back," Urlacher said. "... I'm very happy with my decision. I'm 100 percent solid on this. I'm tired of working out. As old as I am and as much as my body is sore right now, I'm tired of working out."

So long, 54. See you in Canton in 5 years.

Him and Ray Lewis could go in the same year. Pretty cool.

Ronde Barber and possibly Randy Moss could be in that same year too.

Bears aren't tanking the season, so there's no reason to go out of their way to appease the meatballs. Though it might happen if they get off to a wretched start or if Cutler goes down with an injury.

So at what point this season will the injury situation lead Urlacher to taking on the Kerry Wood role and coming back for one last hurrah after he thought he was done?

DP presented that scenario to him at the end of that interview I linked above. Uralcher said no amount of money, no scenario would have him return. Really did sound like he was really done.

I listened to maybe half, and it sure seemed to me that the tone did not match up with the words as far as the "I'm done" sentiment is concerned.
