Illinois State Police say #Bears FB Evan Rodriguez ticketed for DUI, Speeding & Improper Lane Usage this morning at around 3:30 am CT.

In March he was arrested in Miami for disorderly intoxication and resisting a police officer without intoxication.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves in sports. You're in line to potentially make millions, how hard is it to not act like an [expletive]?

You're young, you feel invincible physically, you have been coddled by organizations and hero worshipped by fans, and you suddenly have millions of dollars.

Easy to screw up.

On the other hand, the driving drunk thing in particular bugs me. 1) You've got the money to pay for a cab or limo any time you want. 2) most teams provide free rides for all their players. 3) you probably have enough influence with those around you to peg one of them to stay sober as the DD. Just use one of those, for crying out loud.

Yeah even from a practical aspect, I just don't get it. Who the hell wants to have to drive when they go out?

He must be trying to figure out how quickly a player can blow his shot at a career in the NFL.

In other news, Martellus Bennett is still pretty much the best ever:

Martellus Bennett @MartysaurusRex

Meanwhile back at the ranch Batman was cornered by 6 mysterious shadows and a buffalo goat. I wonder what we'll happen next. Stay tuned

Had heard #Bears were one of the teams most interested in JaMarcus Russell. They kept it under wraps. But Marc Trestman is intrigued.

JaMarcus Russell, Trent Edwards and Jordan Palmer aren't the only quarterbacks with recognizable names parading through Halas Hall these days.

CFL quarterback Anthony Calvillo recently worked with Jay Cutler and the other Bears quarterbacks.

And Rich Gannon, who had two outstanding seasons under Bears coach Marc Trestman while with the Raiders, is scheduled to come to Halas Hall next week during minicamp to impart his wisdom on Bears quarterbacks.

FYI, it's one of those "plus" articles.
