I've heard that Paxson is pissed that Deng didn't have his surgery sooner and still wants to play for GB in the Olympics. I see both sides, but to play for your adopted home country is a once in a lifetime dream.

Next year will be tough for the Bulls to make the playoffs. Pax hasn't addressed what the team has needed for years, an inside scoring threat. Don't know what the draft will bring, but unless you get another scorer they will struggle to score.

Deng seems to have a level had about the whole thing, and understands why the Bulls would want Deng to skip the Olympics. It sounds more like Pax isn't so much pissed as he is disappointed, but I guess that's making a pretty fine distinction...

Deng, though, does not believe the Bulls have acted in response to his stance.

"I don't think so," he said. "Me and (coach Tom Thibodeau) have a very close relationship. I spoke to (GM) Gar (Forman), I spoke to (VP of basketball operations John) Paxson, and it's one of those things you don't want to bring up.

"He's doing his job. As much as I'm playing basketball, working out, I'm doing my job. You just let it be. If it's going on, it's going on. At the end of the day there are no hard feelings and I'm not a 21-year-old kid who will get upset by it. I understand the game.

"I wouldn't want me to play (in the Olympics) either. Pax is an athlete and, as an athlete who used to play, Pax understands me wanting to play. But as a GM that's his job to try and get the team healthy and get the team ready for next year. I understand both sides to it.

"But it comes down to an injury that happened at the wrong time. I just try to let people know I'm going to be OK."

The rumor on the Bulls board at RealGM has it that we've offered Deng and 29 to the Warriors for Biedrins, Wright, and 7. I think the rumor comes from a paper in Great Britain. At any rate, that's a stupid deal. Biedrins is flat out awful, has 2 years and over 20 mill left on his deal. Wright is average and is making close to 4 mill in the last year of his contract. Couple that with 7 being a spot where there doesn't appear to be a clear cut guy we're looking at, and this just doesn't make sense. No cap relief? Yuck.

Depends. The Bulls apparently are very interested in Barnes. Say they end up with Biedrins, Wright and Barnes. They now have a replacement for Deng, a guy who can score off the bench in Wright, and Biedrins. After next offseason, you can probably take Biedrins' $10 million and trade it to a team for a good player with a longer-term contract,.

I'm worried that they'd be considering Biedrins as an Omer replacement in the increasing possibility that another team makes a huge offer for him.

He could certainly fill that role (not as good as Omer, of course). But all indications are that they'll match an offer for Omer, as it can't be for more than the MLE.

The Bulls have privately assured Luol Deng that there's "no chance" of a deal sending him to the Warriors, league source tells Y!

Didn't say anything about other teams though, eh?

There was also a variation of that trade as a 3 team deal with Utah. Basically we get Devin Harris and not Biedrins and some other differences in draft picks. But it seems like Deng will end up staying after all.

I think the moves the Bulls make this offseason will be with an eye towards the next offseason. Some real names on this list:

Which is why I'm completely fine with trading for Dwight Howard, even if he were to leave after next season. The worst case scenario is that you're left with Derrick Rose and a whole bunch of cap room for 2013.

This Bulls team is incomplete and likely incapable of winning the ECF as it's currently constructed. I wouldn't mind gutting the team for Howard hoping that he'd strike an extension. If not, then we'll have room to rebuild a roster focused on the Heat's weaknesses. If they get Ray Allen, they'll have Lebron run point PF most of the time.

As ex-Portland Trail Blazer Brandon Roy plans his comeback to the NBA, the Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers and Minnesota Timberwolves have emerged as serious suitors to sign the former All-Star guard, league sources told Yahoo

Not with his bad knees. Wasn't he forced to retire two years ago because his knees were shot. Who are these league sources anyway-his agents?

KC had retweeted that from someone else, I kind of doubt they make it known hours before the draft what their plans are. I'm still hoping for a trade of some sort anyway.

If that is true, I wasn't really expecting that, but then again I wasn't expecting Taj Gibson when he was drafted either.

There are some good things written about him online, especially his defense and potentially 3 point shooting.

That's really smart. Let it be known that you plan on taking someone when there's 28 picks before you. Brilliant.

Maybe they're trying to bait one of the first 28 teams to draft him so somebody who's actually good can fall to the Bulls.

He's a terrible shooter.

Taylor has one of the best shots of any of the options at 29 at becoming a star, but he'll never get there in Chicago because he's a ball dominant PG like Rose. His inconsistency makes him a bad match as a plug-in rotation player too. He'd be much better off following Chalmers to Miami or going to Golden State.
