Yeah, I was at that Regional too and enjoyed seeing MSU take down Louisville. It is possible I may still go, but have already had a lot of my Louisville friends call about the tickets. Was in a win/win, hopefully see IU in the Regional or sell them.

Should be some exciting games to watch at Lucas Oil.

Apologies for turning this into a ticket exchange forum . . . but I have four tickets and almost certainly will be looking to sell two of the four, if you have more friends interested.

Iowa is a 3 in the NIT, so they weren't even close to making the tourney.

Why? NIT and NCAA have different selection committees.

Didn't someone say on TV yesterday that Iowa was the 2nd team out?

Iowa was one of the last six out. The list I posted yesterday was in alphabetical order apparently.

The late games are probably the only time I'll be able to watch on Friday, which serves me well. Quit your whining, snood - aren't you still out here in Southern California?

I thought in years past the 4 #1 seeds were the last 4 out. I may have completely made that up

The weird thing was a lot of places early on said Iowa was a #1 seed then they were announced as a #3. I wonder if it was because they were one of the first 4 out and they ran with it until the NIT committee said otherwise.

Yes, but I hate waiting all day. And I have Friday off. Would rather get the game out of the way.

Bobinski already confirmed that Iowa, Virginia, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee and Southern Miss were the first 6 out.

The NIT committee is just made up of C.M. Newton and a bunch of 70+ year old men who do their own thing and just take the top RPI's for the most part.

Maluaga just got 2 years 6.5mil. That's probably about what Urlacher can expect. Maybe a touch more.

Is he a Kentucky recruit or something?

No duh. I said 2 year deal. Its Ohio St.

Gotcha... I have no expectations so I'm not caught up like that.

I'm pretty pumped that I have Thursday off - it's the first time I've had a day off during the first round since college.

Why was this game played at Robert Morris? I know Rupp is hosting NCAA tournament games but those don't start until tomorrow. Surely they could have played there last night. And if not, they played an NIT game at Memorial Coliseum under Billy Gillispie because there was a HS championship game scheduled for Rupp. Why couldn't they have done that again?

I think there is some rule that you can't play NCAA Tournament games and NIT games at the same site, in the same year. Even if the scheduling of games don't overlap.

Right...DePaul (back when they werent an embarassment to major college basketball) played an NIT game on campus when Allstate Arena couldn't host the game.

Are you sure? I remember Creighton playing an NIT game in 2008, two nights before they hosted first and second round NCAA games.

I think I read somewhere that it was a staffing issue that forced the game to be played on the road. They couldn't get enough staff to work the game, convert the arena, and then host 4 days worth of games with only 1 days notice.
