Go blue

Shouldn't you be rooting for an IU win so they come to Champaign as the #1 team and set up for a potential let down?

No, I'd rather IU not be #1 when they beat us by 20 in Champaign.

Plus Indiana is awful. The fan base. Not the team.

Jesus Christ, 4-4 from 3 in the first 5 minutes of the game for Indiana.

Michigan looks disoriented just like the Ohio State game

Michigan 3-9 and Indiana 6-6

Ugh. Take care of the ball and this is a double digit lead. Not getting anything from the bench other than defense. Yogi needs to play all 20 next half.

We suck.

Oh man we are gonna struggle to another 30 win season, get a one seed, and probably make a final four. Can we ban this guy from this thread? Jesus snood, enjoy the ride once.

I'm sorry I can't keep a cool level head like you when we're losing.

We haven't played well for a month. Johnson is not a pg. this team has struggled to win at home. We need to improve a lot to be a FF team.

It's gotta be a huge boost for Michigan to shoot 39% for the half, while the other team shoot 56% and only be down on the road. Very interesting half. Michigan doing a good job scoring in transition but there won't be as many of those opportunities as I doubt Indiana will turn it over this much.

If Michigan is to win Stauskas or GR3 (combined 2 points on 1-10 shooting) have to produce more offensively. GR3 was pretty much invisible and Stauskas' confidence got worse as the half went on

Big difference in the two teams past 8 years or so, maybe that's why I get pissed easier, no? Also every year at this time you struggle. That's when Self puts in new stuff for the team to work on. You're still making the final four barring some team going crazy from three against you.

Ugh....good game. Michigan's offense just doesnt look the same in the OSU and Indiana games. Lots of hero ball, not as much sharing. Stauskas and Robinson just completely disappear leaving Hardaway and Burke to try to take everything on themselves

This game doesn't really change my opinion of Michigan though. Gotta protect home court and beat Ohio State on Tuesday

I didn't feel like Hardaway really got into a rhythm felt like he would disappear for minutes at a time. Good win. Gotta protect home court. Probably only #1 for this week. Don't expect to win in Columbus.

how many [expletive] times is Dickie V going to compare Oladipo to Jordan??

Yeah not even similar players. If anyone on the IU team compares to a star its Hulls to DWade.

maybe this game motivates GR3 to stay a year and add refine his game more

one can dream

oh, and that *continuation* and-1 to Oladipo was the most disgraceful call in the history of western civilization, still can't believe it really

Hell of an atmosphere provided by the worst fan base in America tonight. Can only dream how much more fun that would have been if IU had good fans.

I love it.

Right, ok. What is that even based on? It was a dumb statement and I responded.

I just don't understand the "fan" argument. IU has some awful fans, probably moreso than others due to their popularity and sense of entitlement. I get that. But there are also a lot of people who watched the complete train wreck of IU basketball for two straight years that are having a blast right now. With the exception of a few schools, most college programs would kill for the fan support IU gets. I don't think anyone expected in the span of 4 years to go from basically the worst D-1 team to one of the best.

Crean is a spastic goof, I get that. He's an easy mark. Regardless, he has it working right now. Kids want to come to IU, and not just Indiana kids. Obviously the Indiana kids are key, all you have to do is look at how many didn't give IU a thought the past 8-10 years. Make fun of Crean all you want, but you can't deny he has engineered an impressive turnaround.

I don't think IU wil win the Big10 at this point. Too many tough road games left. It's conceivable they may tie in some fashion, but in order to win it they will need to find a way to win at least 2 on the road against Ohio St, Minnesota, Mich St, and Michigan. This is all assuming they beat Illinois and win the rest at home.

Anyway, the Oladipo show rolls on. Oladipo only allowed 4 points on 45 possessions while guarding 4 different players.

Wow. Thats a pretty impressive stat from Oladipo. Thats what I meant by Hardaway Jr. seeming inconsistent. He scored his points late and vs Hulls and Ferrell when IU went with Sheehey on Burke. But only 4 points allowed when he spent at least half the game on guys that combined for 43 points is amazing. Hollowell did a good job defensively and on the boards. Watford and Hulls picked their spots to score well. I think the last 3 games they have played the best they have all season.

As for the conference, I think the Minnesota game is winnable on the road but I don't know about the others. At this point, I kind of expect to win 1 more of those 4. Hoping for a win in Columbus vs a team I don't think I'd as good ad Mich St. but they will have some ability like Wisconsin to slow the game down and keep the game in the 50-60 range. Plus it would keep us #1 for more than one week.

anyhow, i got my money on malcolm hill being mr. basketball in illinois his year.

He should be, I'm betting Parker gets it. Even though he hasn't been the best player on his own team this year.

What do Illinois guys think of Tyler Ulis?

Lol go to the illinois scout board and ask illininutt

I don't want to. That's why I asked you.

I know this may read crazy but, I believe the Illini have been coming closer and closer to putting a complete game together. Wouldn't be all that surprising it finally comes together today and they blow out Wisconsin.

Great game. Michigan is really good and likely will end up winning the Big Ten. However, if they're better than IU it's not by much.

Contrary to the media storyline, IU matches up well with Michigan both in style and personnel -- unlike Wisconsin (style) or Michigan State (personnel). Too much was made of Hulls. First, Hulls is second on the team in minutes and IU is the thirteenth most efficient defense in the nation. He is a defensive liability, but it clearly isn't *that* much of an issue (excepting late-game clear outs). Second, as far as top level teams go, Stauskas is about as good of a matchup as possible for Hulls. And if that doesn't work, the answer is simple: play Sheehey. The frontcourt is a bigger matchup issue for Michigan. Morgan wasn't healthy I know, but IU's starting front court combined for 33 and 20, Michigan's 12 and 11. And unlike IU bringing in Sheehey, Michigan can't really bring in Chris Webber.

Mental toughness will again be put to the test at Illinois. I'm expecting a dogfight.
