They're rushing the LF video board. We're all gonna be happy when it falls on and crushes Coghlan instead of Bryant opening night.

In my 13 years, I've never called up a rookie to replace a guy who was crushed to death by a scoreboard malfunction.

#Cubs Carl Rice says LF video board ready Opening Night and RF board by all-star break

all star break? wtf

are they worried about this court decision or what? shouldn't take nearly that long to put up.

Right...look how quickly the LF board is going up. Something fishy here

Looks like they are done for today. 1/4 complete. If they follow that pace it will be done on Friday.

Def weren't done there. Wrigley Renovations tweeted a pic a while ago with nearly half the board covered.

Priorities maybe. They can't work as much, especially on days with games, and finishing the bleachers have to be priority one. I read somewhere that the bleachers are about 6000 seats, when you consider that they are $36 a ticket, that's up to $216,000 dollars a game (I say up to because they may not sell out and that doesn't count group/discount rates). The second scoreboard is a luxury item, plus with the lawsuit they may be taking their time.

[expletive] them. I wish it was a little closer to done too but it's sort of a metaphor for the team. Not quite finished, but damn is it going to be impressive when it's done.

All those dongs will just delay construction further as they search for the balls among the girders and check for damage.

Almost there....

I'm guessing once they finish putting up the panels they need to set up all the wiring and stuff before its operational. Plus they probably need to close up the back of the structure to protect from weather.

Agreed. However, the Royals had their video portion of the board up for a full season before they finished the cosmetic shell IIRC.

I hope they forgot to keep an opening big enough to get that crane back out.

Haha, I could see Julian Green addressing the media on Sunday:

"No, uhhh, we intended for that crane to remain on the field. Umm....we feel it will add a unique character to the ballpark. We are working with tonights umpires to define ground rules."
