Whenever I'm in the bleachers I basically sit directly under where the board is. That'll be a different experience.

I like it. But the old scoreboard look terribly small, dated, and out of place next to it. Like a tear down in Hinsdale (or pick the suburb of your choice).

It'll look more balanced when the RF board is up.

I don't know if this has been addressed, but do they intend to continue operating the old scoreboard, or is it strictly an artifact now?

Haven't heard any indication that they'll stop operating it.

Do they intend to put field lights on top of it like in some of the renderings? Or just a black box? Was there a final rendering that someone can point to?

I'm pretty sure they are putting lights on it.

They aren't. That went away with last year's revisions and was replaced with light towers in right and left.

Those towers were supposed to be in this year but now who knows when?

Also, not sure what you mean by black box but the Wintrust sign is going on top of it.

I meant the new board looks like a black box at the moment. But I'm sure they will add some flair on the sides and on the top. I thought the light trees were a good idea but maybe that would be too much.

The old scoreboard is going to be ignored. Why would you bother looking at it when all the boards around it are giving you the same information in a more enhanced way? I'd be surprised if that wasn't altered in some way in the years to come. Maybe make it digital somehow? How long do you try and hold onto it? Very interesting to watch this unfold in the next few years.

Pretty sure it's landmark protected.

I'll probably still look to it for balls and strikes out of habit. They are super fast with it.

keep the old scoreboard, but when someone hits a home run, have a giant sculpture pop up behind it with jumping fish and flamingos and palm trees and thousands of lights.

replace the fish and flamingos with a pantless clark

The old scoreboard is going nowhere. Other teams have recreated similar scoreboards for out of town games and still used digital boards to do the same thing.

They're already running test patterns on the board.

I wonder how you put a value on tarp advertisement with no real way to say how little or much it will be seen.
