Boards on the outfield wall? I don't remember hearing anything about that before.

It's two boards like the one we already had in RF.

Ahh, ok, so on top of the wall. When I read "on" I was thinking on the face of the wall, but this makes more sense.

Since this is where we covered the rooftop stuff I guess I'll post here

http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/breaking/ct-wrigley-rooftop-sale-0117-biz-20150116-story.html

The Ricketts family, owner of the Chicago Cubs, has purchased three neighboring apartment buildings with rooftop businesses, property records and sources confirmed late Friday.

County property records show that the rooftop business at 3639 N. Sheffield Ave. was sold on Jan. 9 for $4.2 million The property is co-owned by James Lourgos, who did not return a phone call seeking comment on the sale.

Two sources said that George Loukas sold two buildings at 3643-3645 N. Sheffield Ave. and 1032-1034 W. Waveland Ave. to the Ricketts family. The sources did not disclose the sales price of the properties.

Crane doesn't come across as much as a clown as he does a bawss.

Eta: ...unless the rooftops win.

Does he? I've never had much to complain about on him, but is handling a negotiation like that smart, when its going to be in the hands of a judge?

I'm over the rooftops, as I'm fairly positive everyone on here is, but rubbing stuff in their face(if even true) could make them sympathetic in the eyes of a judge, I guess. Especially considering their prior agreement til 2023.

I'm much less worried about how sympathetic they look when a judge is involved than I would be if it was a jury. Those are definitely some creative angles they've taken and I hope there's some plausible deniability for those Crane quotes. Definitely seems a bit over the top.

I'm not really worried about that unless they have documentation, like recordings of these phone calls. People's memories of conversations are so heavily colored by their perceptions of the context, that I don't think the rooftop owners are capable of coming all that close to a literal transcription of his words, and I think that's going to be pretty clear. I have to believe that starkly varying recollections of conversations are extremely common in lawsuits.

Chief Rash: "He said ovaries?"

Jeff Dearly: "Oh yeah, all the time."

If the lawyer is putting kenny's comments in quotes, I imagine they taped the conversation. I don't know if it is illegal to be a flaming dick though.

If Kenney was recorded without his knowledge, isn't it illegal to use that as evidence in a court of law?

The two party consent law in Illinois was struck down as unconstitutional last year. So I'm not sure, but guessing not.

We'll see, but I think you have way more faith in a lawyer trying to use anti-trust arguments against the Cubs remodeling their stadium than I do. Taping phone calls isn't a common business practice, especially with a smaller business. Not saying it couldn't happen, but I don't think it's probable.

Time to sling poo against the wall and hope it sticks.

I don't even care if the Cubs aren't playing fair and throwing their weight around (if that is even true), if those [expletive] rooftops somehow stop those boards from going up before opening day, I really really hope people somehow organize a boycot of those rooftops.

As long as the Cubs aren't "encouraging" it, I'd love to see it happen. Can't imagine they can do a damn thing if the Cubs aren't involved in it.

Me too, but you know the corporations who rent out those things aren't paying attention and won't. It's a layup way to entertain.

Even before all this, you couldn't have gotten me to take a ticket for free.
