  1. Was at this game. Newcomb had nice vertical and lateral movement on all his pitches, and hit 98 multiple times on the fastball. I was in RF, so I couldn’t identify which pitch was which (though I have my guesses), but he sat at 79-81 and 84-86 for the off speed pitches he threw. Not that he’s a prospect at all, but Hicks’ home run was into a slight breeze, and barely landed inside the LF concourse at Victory Field. As an aside, if he makes the majors on a consistent basis, Crook is going to be adored by the bleachers. All game long he interacted with the few Iowa fans in the area, and danced to all the stadium music.
  2. Is Johnny Knoxville still on the roster?
  3. Per BA: Zach Cates and Trey McNutt released.
  4. Currently, only the NL Central has no team, .500 or over, with a losing record at home or on the road. Very random.
  5. That lineup (minus Baez) is striking fear in no one at present I'm afraid everyone they send them out, we'll score less than 2 runs.
  6. Anyone up for a game of Boggle™? I did that on purpose, but if you haven't been here forever you probably missed the reference. I know the reference. (Checks join dates). It's just not a funny joke. They can't all be winners.
  7. If young and controllable is the shortstop requirement for SD, wouldn't Castro (plus Torres) make sense to Boston, if they then sent Bogaerts to SD? Lots of other pieces needed, obviously
  8. He's no Matt Kemp, that's for sure No. Because he's a pitcher. Kemp's a power forward. Wait, wrong Kemp. He's an Outfielder. Barely. Barely more of a passable MLB outfielder than I am.
  9. I know, that's what I was implying but I don't think people caught on. If you look at ARCubsfan's profile it says he's 23. Smoking gun evidence! Edit: Ok the real smoking gun is that the twitter user is just as irrationally negative during games as the NSBB poster And that user's been quoted here before... viewtopic.php?f=2&t=63160&start=275#p3108057 Edit: Add the smoking gun: viewtopic.php?t=64086&start=300#p3230379
  10. That's what I thought. It looked kinda like it changed direction after the bounce. It's hard to tell though.

    Castro

If it is, it's certainly one of the tamer personal attacks on this site.
  12. He joined this year and has started approximately 839 threads with people saying the same thing for the last 676. 1. He isn't going anywhere because of that. 2. If he does, he does. Same for you or anyone. It's a [expletive] message board. If people post stupid things you can make fun of their post. The goal isn't to rack up as many people as possible here. If you want to go somewhere with the most members, go for it. 3. The forum isn't going to die because cracked out threads that are started everyday earn a sarcastic comment. 1) No, he's probably not going anywhere. Not sure if the account is elaborate troll, or the user perceives the actual, intended abuse, as good-natured ribbing. 2) If Tim's using ad revenue to at least cover server/bandwidth costs, to an extent the goal is to rack up a certain number of people. I'm certain that Tim would love it, if this was a moneymaking endeavor as well. Offensive people, both agitators and trolls, will serve to drive the userbase, both registered and unregistered, away. It's not just registered users who see ads. 3) It is true that the forum won't die from cracked out threads getting sarcastic comments, but a forum that is perceived as highly unwelcoming to newcomers, will eventually die out.
  13. Rotoworld is calling this signed to a minor league contract, so I'm guessing he was released. Edit: Rotoworld says he opted out, if I bothered to read.
