Each one's assessed around a market value of 3 million (market value is 10x assessed value in Cook Co)

Based on the publicly available records on the recorder's site (you can search those PINs at ccrd.info), it looks like they secured a credit line of up to 20,000,000 back in May 2008.

I'm really interested in what the Cubs would do if they end up owning a bunch of the rooftops. I would prefer an option that removes the bleachers from the rooftops.

Parking garages

Parking garages

I know people always mention parking garages, but can that area really handle the increase in gameday traffic that would presumably result from parking garage use? Right now, I would guess that a majority of people park in remote lots, which helps to disperse the traffic. What if a bunch of those people were heading down Clark or Addison instead to get into a parking garage?

They want to make Waveland a fussganger on game days so I'm thinking parking garage is not an option. I think B&Bs or short term rentals would be a great idea. VRBO.com rentals near Wrigley go for 1000 and up per day during in-town weeks. The Ricketts could make a killing doing weekly rentals and party places on the top.

I would expect offices/stores/bar or restaurant/etc on the first floor then rentals or offices above then the bleachers rooftop (the ones without a ton of obstruction).

Read where Crane mentioned today that it is possible that the bleachers will not be finished by Opening Day.

That would make for an interesting image for the Sunday Night opener.

This is what he said (according to Brett)

Speaking of the renovation, there have been some delays in the bleachers, which could mean those bleachers are not fully open for the very start of the season. That is not the expectation, but Kenney said there are contingency plans in place to accommodate season ticket holders within the rest of the stadium if they cannot sit in the bleachers by Opening Day. Kenney suggested that, if that happens, they will not sell single-game tickets in the bleachers for Opening Day (or however long they need to complete work). The delays have been caused by a combination of factors, including weather (which they did plan for), plan changes (which we saw playing out over the course of the year with the outfield signage issues), and a water pipe system that was much more antiquated than expected when they got into the ground. That issue was supposed to be remedied by the city by October 6, and it still is not complete. Kenney made sure to emphasize, though, that the water pipe issue was not the only cause of delay (in other words: he’s not blaming the city for delays).

Also

The bullpens will not be relocated for next season. Assuming everything goes to plan, they cannot be moved under the bleachers until the batting cage currently there is moved back under the grandstand. That is not supposed to happen until next offseason, so the earliest you’d see the bullpens relocated is the 2016 season.

The Cubs are still expecting all seven outfield signs to be in place for next season, though it sounds like they’re still working through the process of finalizing partners.

Not sure how many people have ST in the bleachers. Trying to figure where exactly they would put those people.

Pre-zent Top of my head for Opening Day, which would include the Nights&Weekends package I'd guess ~2,000?

Cubs are removing a sign and switching the RF ones around.

I think I liked the new RF board better where it was before. Might look too busy with the current(ly nonexistent) board at the top of the wall.

It's more of a giant "F You" to those rooftop owners along Sheffield, that's for sure.

Even more of an FU to the Miller/Torco building.

I wonder if that billboard will even stay up after this, lol. Also, I wonder if this has anything to do with the buildings they bought.

Loukas owns/owned the building at the corner of Waveland and Sheffied, so if that's one of the ones the Cubs bought, that might explain the removal of that one sign.

I thought the rooftop at the corner was on the LF side of the scoreboard?

Right (er, correct), which is where the sign is being removed from the plans.

The 2,400-square-foot video board in right field will be reduced in size and moved closer to the right-field line. The new size of the video board could not be determined. A script ad sign that had been located down the right-field line will be moved to the location of the video board. And an advertising sign in left-center field will be removed….

Despite winning approval in July to construct seven signs—all of which were supposed to be up by the beginning of next season—the team has adjusted its plan after a negotiation with the National Park Service to earn a spot on the National Register of Historic Places.

Winning such a status from the National Park Service is a vital piece of the Cubs’ financial plan because it would qualify the team for a valuable tax credits for preserving a historic landmark.

While the changes do make sense, they come awfully late in the process. There’s already some serious doubt as to whether the bleacher renovations will be done in time for the April season opener, and shifting things around will surely mean design changes and potentially other delays.

So whoever posted that picture with the arrows earlier was wrong? I actually don't mind the video board being along the foul pole and the script sign where the video board was. Won't look as "crowded" as I thought.

Also, not sure why but the new light towers are no longer listed in phase one (or anywhere) here. I'm 90% sure they used to be on there.

Wonder why that is...hope they didn't have to drop those. They are needed.

I think they were too. My guess is they are changing things because they aren't going to get the construction done on time for opening day.
