In ruling, judge asks what neither #wrigley rooftops nor @Cubs did: can't rooftop biz just be Wrigleyville bar? #Cubs

Well I'm sure the Ricketts will take that into consideration after they inevitably buy the buildings.

I went and looked at an old rendering of the boards and Tim Marchman is right, you guys. IT'S LIKE THE SKY ISN'T EVEN THERE ANYMORE!

So the only framing of the board will be digital right?

i have no idea what you're asking

Think he means that the renderings looked like it might be sectioned off but yah it'll all be digital. Fake framing

Like the entire jumbotron is the screen. For example the White Sox have their screen at center, and then a [expletive] ton of framing around it:

The "framing" for ours appears to be artificial borders projected on the screen.

Basically all the modern jumbotrons from the last ten years are like that. Companies pay more money for ads on the full jumbotron with video and sound than a static ad next to the screen. The screens easily pay for themselves.

I wish we could have an updated rendering. Where is the video board in RF actually going? It's changed places multiple times in renderings. This set appears to the be the "screw you" rooftops version that has the light towers and signs basically anywhere there was a rooftop business. I kind of got the impression a good number of these signs and the light towers weren't actually going to happen, it was more of just a power play by the Cubs showing the rooftops what they could get approval for.

That is the final revised rendering after the location changes were made on the boards and the one sign was removed.

Not sure when the light towers are going up, but they haven't been removed from the plans as far as I know. They were supposed to be up this year but obviously not anymore.

I swear I remember reading an article after these coming out saying the Cubs were willing to negotiate a plan that was more in line with what they originally showed, which spurred some of the selling to the Ricketts'. The location of the new Bud sign down the RF line is basically the same as in the first pictures, although it could easily be moved up to the top of the new video board, if that's where it's going. Just from reading other things, I got the impression this rendering was just a posturing move by the Cubs basically showing they had the city in their corner and not necessarily everything that was gonna happen.

Nope. This is the revised rendering after they moved things around over the winter and had to get the Landmark approval for federal tax credit. It reflects the most recent plans. The board on the right was swapped more or less with the sign in right center. Another sign was also removed from the plan at that point (which is therefore not in this rendering). You may be right in that they might move things around a bit for the rooftops depending on which they buy, but that's about it IMO.

This was the previous design:

Interesting that they're going with the postseason arrangement on the CF board for Sunday night.

The Cubs and Cards are the only teams represented. Typically the rest of MLB would be up there with "NO GAME" notices.

I think that is the "if you want to see the game, buy a ticket and come inside the park" version. Looks very nice too.
