The new scoreboard is pretty loud. I can hear the organ music pretty distinctly in my condo about a half mile away. I could never hear it before.

One of my friends said he could hear the game clearly too. He lives on Diversey and Sheffield.

Might need to dial this in a bit.

Port-o-Johns will have to be a minimum distance from food and can't be anywhere other than the main level. That's going to be cozy.

EDIT: I'd consider putting up fences outside the RF and LF corner entrances to effectively extend the inside of the park and then and put a dozen or so of them on each side.

I used to be able to hear the games from that neighborhood back in 98'.

Yeah, the smartest thing to do would be to keep them grouped together as much as possible. You have just one or two in different spots and they're getting knocked over in no time.

also there were no hotdog vendors to be found the entire game in my section and waited in line at a concession stand only to be told they were out of hot dogs...then checked at the next stand...also no hot dogs. like wtf how does that happen?

I was in line at a concession stand and they ran out of hot chocolate two people in front of me. The woman in front of me absolutely lost it because they were already out of hot dogs too. It was hilarious.

If pissing, pooping, eating, and being comfortable are all that important to you….STAY HOME.

People go through all the trouble to go/get to the park and then spend an inordinate amount of time eating, drinking and disposing of bodily waste. It's only a 3 hour game. Sit down and watch the game and stop worrying about food, your pee, and your GD phone.

What an awful way to experience a baseball game.

We should have just played in Milwaukee for a year.

I'd rather [expletive] in a porta-john

It's not just that, but the huge portions of revenue they're gonna miss out on anyways, with the legitimate concern that we could see similar delays and lost revenue in the subsequent phases.

1.) Highly doubtful they'd be getting full revenue playing at Miller Park, anyway. I sincerely doubt they'd be selling out every game and it'd probably cost them something significant to play there for a full year.

2.) This doesn't make much sense to me. As it currently stands, Phase One should essentially be complete come mid-June. From what I can tell, it would seem like this is the most difficult and extensive phase as they are building a significant portion of the stadium from scratch. That said, since it will be done by June and Phase Two won't begin until next offseason anyway, where's the delay coming from besides more cold weather/force majeure type stuff? Should they play the next several years at Miller just in case there's delays each offseason?

Aren't they supposed to do some extensive work to the grandstand? The point is if you play a season elsewhere, you do work yearround.

I do get that, but they still wouldn't be done. It looks like they're doing substantive work to Wrigley all the way through phase four. I mean if they felt they could have gotten practically everything done in the year, then yea maybe it's worth it. That said, it's certainly possible the cost of playing at the Cell or Miller for a year just ended up not being worth the trouble.

Yeah, there's still a ton of work to be done on/in the grandstand and the clubhouses and, well, practically everything they haven't touched already. I don't know why ct thinks all of the "hard stuff" is nearly done after a single offseason in a projected 5 year process.

On the upside, it looks like Phase Two is a lot less likely to be delayed by the elements, although I obviously know jack-all about construction.

Phase Two is:

Clubhouses (inside-ish, I'd imagine)

Bullpens (under the bleachers being built now)

"A new, 30,000-square-foot concessions preparation and staging area will be added below the plaza"

This seems to be the real doozy of Phase Two: "The seats and most of the concrete from the left-field foul pole to the main gate under the marquee will all be replaced, and the third-base-side concourse will be completed. Plans include new concessions and bathrooms in the area." and "enhancements to the right-field upper deck, including the development of a new outdoor concourse along the south and west roofline of the ballpark with additional concessions and bathrooms."

Phase Three shifts things to the first base side.

I don't think that at all. Phase one just strikes me as the most likely to be delayed (easy to say, though, seeing as how extensively it was).

Again, I imagine the cost and logistics of having to share a different stadium, especially one an hour and a half from Wrigley could be massively unappealing to a team.
