  1. A bad high ankle sprain would be worse than a fracture IMO.
  2. Had to know things couldn't go so good for long...
  3. this thread is fantastic but has anyone found the single game prices yet?
  4. Yep, multiple HD streams going at once in our house is an issue. Also, 4K and its successor are coming soon. Data caps are being implemented in a lot of areas. There's no free lunches in media consumption. Eventually, costs are going to rise a good bit on streaming if everyone transitions over to that.
  5. We'll see if anyone can make that work. Ultimately, it's probably going to come down to the sports leagues rights fees getting renegotiated to make anything like that work. I still believe the big losers in all of the cord cutting deal is going to be sports fans. If we want our content, we're gonna have to start paying more per channel for it. The people that don't watch sports are not going to be subsidizing it anymore.
  6. The problem is that there's like 10-12 favorite channels I really watch, but to get all of them in one package, I have to pay like $130 a month. It's just not worth it. I think if cable/satellite is going to survive long term, they'll eventually need to go a la carte. I don't think a la carte is a good situation for sports fans. Sports channels are by far the most expensive channels for cable/sat companies. If it goes a la carte, the non sports watchers will have a heck of a deal but the espns, nfl networks, mlb networks and RSNs will be $15-$30 each. I really don't understand everyone's desire to stream everything. I love streaming when I'm out of the house, but it's a far inferior product to cable in house IMO. The upgraded bandwidth it will take if the cord cutting continues will cost just as much as a bundled cable package. I understand the movement to curb cable prices, but I would be careful what you wish for.
  7. After a crappy road trip, that was a needed 4 game sweep.
  8. If we're gonna have replay, why in the world do we have to suffer from terrible camera angles? There should be cameras positioned where you can see all 4 sides of the bases.
  9. I think just the riser part is painted green so the ball is able to be seen easier.
  10. Definitely. Rizzo was a big deal but he wasn't the top prospect in baseball and had already spent some time in the majors. I hope Bryant's debut goes as well as Prior's. That was an amazing night.
  11. I'm guessing we'll get a heads-up. I would imagine we'll know tomorrow if he's coming Friday or Sunday night if Monday.
  12. If you're going to a game in the coming weeks, I'd advise cutting back on the drink consumption.
  13. Look good....to people walking by and waiting to get in? Why would that possibly be more exciting than improvements to the part of the park that you see while watching the game? Yeah, just to the feel of the park. Gonna give it a retro look instead of the run down look it has now. I like that sort of thing. I'm just not one to pay attention to jumbotrons at baseball games. There's a gigantic one at Coors Field where I visit frequently and I barely pay attention to it. I look at the ribbon boards displaying count, pitch speed etc... way more often. I know there's a lot of people that are different and have to look constantly at the video board and that's perfectly fine. It's just not me.
  14. Honestly, the video board is just kind of whatever to me. Doesn't excite me other than it = $$$. Could live without it for sure but it doesn't bother me either. I'm more excited about the restoration to the exterior of the park. When that's done it's going to look so good.
  15. I wish we could have an updated rendering. Where is the video board in RF actually going? It's changed places multiple times in renderings. This set appears to the be the "screw you" rooftops version that has the light towers and signs basically anywhere there was a rooftop business. I kind of got the impression a good number of these signs and the light towers weren't actually going to happen, it was more of just a power play by the Cubs showing the rooftops what they could get approval for. That is the final revised rendering after the location changes were made on the boards and the one sign was removed. Not sure when the light towers are going up, but they haven't been removed from the plans as far as I know. They were supposed to be up this year but obviously not anymore. I swear I remember reading an article after these coming out saying the Cubs were willing to negotiate a plan that was more in line with what they originally showed, which spurred some of the selling to the Ricketts'. The location of the new Bud sign down the RF line is basically the same as in the first pictures, although it could easily be moved up to the top of the new video board, if that's where it's going. Just from reading other things, I got the impression this rendering was just a posturing move by the Cubs basically showing they had the city in their corner and not necessarily everything that was gonna happen.
