lol, frank martin, the coach of the hackiest hackers that ever hacked, whining about a no call...

 

He thought McGruder, who scored 11 points, was fouled while trying to make a shot with 1:07 remaining. When no whistle was blown, Martin said McGruder was treated “like some inferior player.”

He pointed to Iowa State’s 26 free throws compared with K-State’s 11 as further evidence.

“We lead our conference in free throws attempted,” Martin said. “We don’t do that because we shoot three-point shots — unbelievable.”

The new Sportsline bracket has Illinois vs Iowa State in the first round with Murray State as the 3 seed, I'd take that draw in a heartbeat.

 

Illinois a 6, wow.

 

Yeah, they really are an enigma. They've got a decent amount of good wins and no terrible losses as strong as the Big 10 is top to bottom. But 6 is too high.

Getting boat raced by Michigan, yeah. I like how Crean absolutely refuses to take a timeout before the 16:00 minute mark. We could be down 20-0 in the first 3 minutes and he still won't call a timeout.

That sound he made after that last Hulls three, I think Gus might need a change of undershorts at halftime.

 

Seriously, does he have some connection to IU that I don't know about?

Indiana will surely come back. Michigan started by hitting every 3 they took but we all know that won't last

I like how Gus said that Hardaway Jr got his hops from dad. Ummm...I don't know if Tim Hardaway ever even dunked in a game. lol.

No, you just hate Indiana and Gus screams for everyone. When he's screaming about Minnesota, nobody gives a [expletive]. When he's screaming about those wieners in Bloomington, you notice.

It would be a lot easier to enjoy this season fully if IU had spaced out their big wins. Even going into the Big 10 season I was just rooting for Indiana to get to 9 Big 10 wins and make the tournament. The Ohio State and Michigan wins raised those expectations a little, but that's pretty much where their true talent level is. I'm sure there will be many stories about their collapse or other such things, but they really were just a team that overacheived for a few games and now has underacheived for a few games. They could go 10-8 or 8-10 depending on how the bounces fall, but they aren't a team who's good enough to go on the road to many places and win. It still is a significant improvement though and next year should still be very exciting.

8-10 will still put Indiana in the tournament unfortunately. 7-11 would be a realllly interesting case. Say they lose in the 1st round of the BTT, they're still sitting at 20-12 with wins over 2 top 5 teams while playing in the best conference in the country, but...

 

That's incredibly unlikely of course, but it's fun to dream.
