I saw nothing else on the matter but there was a blurb on the ESPN bottom line today that said Florida St was considering an SEC move too. Hard to believe but I suppose not impossible. The ACC would probably just grab a Big East school or perhaps Central Florida to replace them.

I saw that FSU's President assured the ACC there hasn't been any contact with the SEC.

I'm not a fan of this. I don't want to see these super conferences. I do think it's hilarious watching the Big 12 fall apart though.

A&M to sec is done according to a source telling Doug Gottlieb. Also mentions Mizzou, Clemson, and FSU.

Noooooo, please stay away from the ACC

Kansas is looking to move.

I feel the same, mainly because I don't see how a team like Iowa would ever win a super conference.

They could rename the conference the ACMoNC (Atlantic Coast/Middle of Nowhere Conference)

I'm hearing that UNC had an offer to join the SEC, but declined it due to two things. 1) NC State was not included in that offer and 2) the school leadership is not keen on big-time college football right now. I obviously could be wrong about the offer, but still..

Also hearing that it is a possibility that the ACC grabs WVU/Pitt to replace Clemson and Florida State.

B1G fans, what interest would the B1G have in any ACC schools?

EDIT: FSU denying SEC rumor now

Nope. We're good at 12.

Maryland would top the B1G's ACC wishlist. Beyond that, not much there...VA Tech maybe?

ADs talking about keeping their options open is not the same as conference commissioners talking about expansion, which is what happened last year when expansion actually took place. Also, facts are things that can be verified.

I don't doubt aTm's interest in the SEC, or even that the SEC would take aTm and maybe a couple more schools. The problem is that posturing over the LHN is not the same as being on the brink of conference movement, but there's a strange movement among quite a few aTm fans that these events have signed, sealed, and delivered them to the SEC.

The AD and president aren't going to come out in the press and say "If the LHN show HS games we are leaving for the SEC." But that's what is going to happen. I'd be willing to bet on that.

I'm sure they would, but they aren't the drivers of that decision. That's my point. The SEC isn't going to just say "oh, aTm's pissed off, let's let them in" and be a 13 team conference, or "oh, aTm's pissed off, we should let them in and then find another team or 3 so the divisions are equal".

Care to rethink this?

B1G and Pac-12 AD's favor a "plus-one" setup which would include the addition of the Cotton Bowl to the BCS and result in two semi-finals and a championship being played every year.

This would be ideal.

“To describe the ADs as supportive, I would call that erroneous,” Delany said.

Delany declined to comment on whether a straw vote took place and how exactly he knows that a majority of Big Ten athletic directors do not favor a “Plus-One.”

“I’m not going to go into the guts of the meeting and where our ADs are or are not,” he said. “I can just tell you they are happy with the Rose Bowl and happy with the status quo.”

Delany also told the Tribune that any SEC expansion – the conference is reportedly interested in adding Texas A&M and a 14th school – would not affect the Big Ten.

“No, we’re about as comfortable as we can be with where we are,” Delany said. “We’ve said we will continue to monitor the landscape, but we have closed down active expansion. Every period you look at it, but we don’t expect anything the SEC does to affect us.”

Hahahaha. Hope the big 12 kicks a&m out.

I don't think today's announcement really means anything. It seems more like a "we're interested and aTm's interested, now everyone needs to get their legal ducks in a row to make this actually happen."
