I'm saying that I don't think aTm is good enough to beat every team they absolutely should(including decent squads like Tech and Baylor) and then go 3-2 or better against OU, OSU, UT, Arkansas, and Mizzou. Same thing for OSU(replace Arkansas with Arizona) and Mizzou(replace Arkansas with Arizona St.). The conference is too strong this year, plus teams scheduled the non-con this year with 8 conference games in mind.

The conference is too strong? LOL. What are you basing your "analysis" of A&M on? We had a pretty good team last year and by all accounts should be even better this year. Tech and Baylor will be average at best. OSU is overrated and lost their OC. Texas was 5-7 last year and still has a lot of question marks. Mizzou will be tough, but we get them at home.

Because aTm was a 4 loss team last year. Most people like to write off 3 of those losses because of the QB change, but for one, Johnson wasn't leading them into the abyss, and two, Johnson had little to do with the defense giving up almost 5 TDs/game in their losses. This isn't to say that they won't be good, but they're a team that should be expected to be a Top ~20ish type team who has to play 5 games against teams of that caliber. Sure they could win 3 of those and not slip up elsewhere(which would be needed to live up to their preseason hype, if not win 4), but it's not all that likely.

I mean, it's clear that it's more of an inevitability at this point, but still.

That's why it doesn't matter if they'll be a middle-of-the-pack team in the SEC. It's about money and nothing else. If the AD isn't even involved, you know that's the truth.

Look more closely at the top of the article.

As Aubrey Bloom of Gigem247 tweeted, this is the same website that reported A&M to the SEC was a done deal last year, and said as recently as a month ago that there was no chance that the Aggies would leave the Big 12.

The guy over at Northwestern's Scout board is talking about Big Ten expansion again. He says there's talk of Texas and ND joining the Big Ten. He had credible info during the Nebraska thing.

Wasn't this guy also wrong a lot? (Along with everyone else who talked expansion)

He was at least smart enough to talk about intent a lot and never say "school x is going to conference x". So he was never wrong, but little to nothing he said ever came to fruition.

Matt Hayes of Sporting News said it's a big IF, but if the A&M thing happens and if Oklahoma decides not to be the 14th SEC team, Va Tech and Missouri would be considered in OU's stead.

I think I'd rather go fight Holgorsen for a BCS game every year.

You mean Gary Patterson, right?

I think we're joining the Pac-n, but the thought of OKSt being relegated to a non-BCS school in that scenario intrigues me.

At the same time the past two days there have been some rumblings about UT and ND teaming up together should there be another conference shakeup.

Johnson turned the ball over a lot. His numbers looked good, but if you don't think there was a big difference in the offense from JJ to Tannehill, you obviously weren't watching. Also, last year was the first year under new DC Tim DeRuyter. The defense played much better at the end of the season. Just ask Nebraska and OU. We were thin at LB and took a huge injury there early in the Cotton Bowl against LSU. That didn't cause us to lose, but I think it really hurt any chance we had at keeping it close. This is a 10-win team.

If you joined the Pac-n, I'm guessing it'd be a mass migration with OK State, Texas and Texas Tech.

Yep. I don't see OKSt getting a nod to join the SEC though.

If Texas and A&M are already broken up with Texas legislators really force worthless Tech to go with Texas? Loath as I am admit it, Missouri makes the most sense as a 16th team out of the Big XII

T Boone Pickens will personally get OSU into a major conference.

Yeah, I don't think they have anything to worry about. Texas Tech and Baylor need to be sweating it big time. Although it appears that the horns are not quite ready to go independent so they are scrambling to find someone to take our place to keep the Big 12 alive. Rumor is that they've already contacted the University of Houston. I hope OU gets a good offer from the Big 10 or Pac 12 so we can finally finish off this lame duck conference.

so some anonymous poster on a northwestern board says nd will blindly follow texas into the big ten? I guess that settles that.
